re: Favorite and Least Favorite MLB stadiums you've been to?

actually like that there are huge parking lots and I don't have to pay $50 to park in someone's front yard, worry about parking in a no parking zone in the middle of a downtown business area or have to take a cab or shuttle into the stadium.
There is something to be said for the huge parking lot era of pro stadiums. Makes tailgating a big part of the experience along with the short walk to and from the car.
The land is just way too valuable for modern stadiums and there's much more money to be made surrounding the ballpark with bars and restaurants instead of huge parking lots.

Looks like you've been to as many ballparks as I have over the years.
My tops:
1. PNC Park (Pittsburgh)
2. Safeco (Seattle)
3. Comerica Park (Detroit)
4. Fenway (Boston)
5. Petco (San Diego)
Bottoms:
5. Oakland
4. Shea Stadium
3. Anaheim Stadium
2. The Vet (Philly)
1. Kingdome (Seattle)
-- Only two of those bottoms still around are Anaheim and Oakland.
--SF Giants stadium, Oracle Park, is overrated.

Surprised more people haven't said Truist Park in Atlanta. I know it's really new but the Battery in RF and the park itself make for a fantastic atmosphere.

I mean, I’ll give you the fact that the location of Kauffman sucks, but the stadium itself is pretty nice. Never seen it knocked as much as in this thread
Kauffman is at the bottom of my list too. Out in a parking lot. No atmosphere. Went to a Royals v Twins day game and it was brutally hot on mid 80 degree day, just suffocating.
1 and 1a are Wrigley and Fenway. Been to both several times. The history, the stadiums, and the surrounding areas were great. Nothing like being in the bleachers at Wrigley. So much fun.
That said I have to admit that Target Field might actually be my favorite. Love going to Twins games there. Never had a bad time.

I get the complaints about Kauffman being in a parking lot with not a lot of scenery. I'll say this...it was built in 1973 and still looks great. There are several stadiums built after that and were torn down to build a new one over that time. Speaking of that the Royals have a new owner and there are talks of building a new stadium closer to downtown.

And yet cardinals fans are in full support of them not selling and moving, and possibly building a new stadium.
Which is why I hope the chiefs forever crash and burn

Wasn't Kauffman renovated a few years back?
KC will always hold a special place because that was where I saw my first MLB game back in 1986 and got to meet George Brett in the field pre-game. It just doesn't stack up to the others I've been to though.
A downtown park in KC would be sweet.

Kaufman was built in the cookie cutter era. At the time, I’d say it was one of the most unique venues in the league. The fountains were a nice touch in the OF, considering 16 of the 26 parks in the league at that time were used by FB (if you include Montreal and Toronto).
Being built outside of downtown was also something related to the times.
I wouldn’t say that I didn’t like Kaufman. The OF and scoreboard and unique design with so many seats between the foul poles is cool. But times have changed, and a stadium in the ‘burbs’ without that dynamic OF view aren’t too popular.

I went to an A’s game while in San Francisco on vacation. I obviously would have chosen a Giants game if they were in town but I am hitting up as many stadiums as I can during my life.
The first impression was getting off the train into a concrete jungle of chain link fencing. Once inside the crowd was great and it just felt like an old school baseball game. No frills but the fireworks show after the game. I’m glad I went.

Literally 5 minutes by car and you are in the middle of downtown.
Being in the middle of the city is HUGE for fan enjoyment. Its one of the main reasons the Superdome gets so many events.

I've already done it twice this year (granted it was COVID rules on capacity both times).

Yep.
Maybe I had a bad experience? This was pre-2014 and 2015 Royals. They were actually quite bad (2010). It was a Monday game against Texas and the Royals were blanked. The tailgating was limited (again, it was Monday), and the stadium was arguably 1/3 full. Just a dull atmosphere in my opinion.

Love Busch with the Arch in the background. I got to experience the Busch 2 cookie cutter once as well. Glad that thing got retired.
I hate the Reds, but you’d have a difficult task finding a bad seat at GABP. Field visibility is excellent damn near all the way around.

Beautiful park
Just too bad you have to go into Cleveland to visit it.

Cleveland is a very, very different city now than it was 20 years ago. The area by the stadium is really fun.

Out of the ones I've been to:
1) A little biased here, but Truist is pretty amazing. The view is so-so (although on a clear day you can see the ATL skyline in the distance), but there isn't a bad seat in that entire ballpark, and the amenities + the Battery are amazing. Only con is that seats on the 3B/left field line will absolutely melt you during summer day games.
2) New Busch is pretty awesome. The atmosphere makes it even better.
3) Coors Field in Denver for the same reason.
As far as the worst, Citi Field and Guarantee Rate are remarkably bland. The new Yankee Stadium doesn't have near the charm the old one did. Miller Park is so-so.
I've never been to Tropicana, but just looking at pictures/broadcasts of it makes me never want to go there.
