No Salvador Perez makes this list a fricking joke. The best fielder since Pudge Rodriguez and incredibly durable. At absolute worst he belongs in the top 30

His best season was 2013 with 3.7 WAR, and he’s on pace to put up less than 1 WAR this year.

He doesn’t belong anywhere near this list

WAR is a useless stat for catchers. It terribly undervalues catcher fielding and penalizes catchers for not playing 162 games.

Perez doesn’t walk and his defense is the reason for his war being as high as it is. Doesn’t get talked about much but Cleveland has had 2 amazing contracts between Kluber and Ramirez.

The list is based on discussions with people associated from teams around the league and based on age, projected value going forward and contracts.

He has also been one of the worst pitch framers in baseball this year

Juan Soto was 14 years old the last time Sal Perez had an OBP north of .300.

There is no chance the Astros, who are in win-now mode and could use a catcher, would trade Kyle Tucker (50 on the list) for Perez.

Perez has been the most impactful fielder in Baseball the last several seasons. Advanced stats have always done a terrible job of measuring Catcher fielding

The Royals would trade Salvador Perez for any of the 50 players on the list. There are none that even make you think twice.

Well they are a tiny market team and rebuilding so sure.

Would any team who has one of the 50 players on the list trade that player for Perez? The answer to that is also no.

So to recap: the Royals would trade him for anybody on the list and no team who has a player on the list would trade him for Perez.

In what world does that make him more valuable than any of the 50 players on the list?
