Please show us all where Louisiana football touched you so we can start building a case against those bastards

Not happening. He'll be known as the third best QB of his time

Unitas, Tarkenton, Montana, Marino, Baugh, then maybe Elway, Favre,
I also might add Graham to the list as well.

In Brees's 10 years with the Saints - this is his yearly average
36 TDs
15 Ints
4850 yards
68% comp
99% rating
In 157 games, Brees AVERAGES 307 ypg
We are talking untouchable numbers over the last decade

Everybody on here will call me a homer, but it's a damn shame he plays in the market that he does and doesn't get the recognition that he deserves...
With a different defense he is right up there with Brady as far as number of rings goes but I guess you can say that about a lot of quarterbacks so that point is moot
I'm pretty sure Drew has actually broken the record for breaking records

With different rules and offenses.
Put Unitas in Brees place and he blows away Brees. Yes I said that.
And Marino? Please. No comparison. Marino definitely better.

Put Brees with the patriots for 15 years under bellichick...he'd have 6 rings at least. We can play this game all day. The fact is - if Brees stays healthy he's going to own virtually every QB record there is.
AND he is clutch. GOAT

Unitas was better period. Go look at the rules. It was impossible for Unitas to get those numbers when head shots and bumping were legal. Rules favored defense. In fact, one of Unitas records stood til Brees broke it. Last two minutes of a game, Unitas much better
As for Marino, I saw them both play. Marino definitely better than Brees. Period.

Lol no
He's more like a Steve Young
10 downvotes and not 1 response
Saints fans are pathetic

I just assumed this thread was a joke. Brees isn't even the 2nd best qb of his era. And relentlessly citing stats compiled due to him throwing significantly more passes than his peers isn't proving anything

The joke in this thread is how underrated Brees is IN this era.
He's averaged almost 5000 yards and 36 TDs per season with no real superstar receivers like Moss, Welker, or Gronk. You could say Graham was great but it is obvious now who was the driver of his success.
To put it in perspective: Brady has only thrown for 30 TDs or more 6 times and over 4800 or more yards 4 times in 15 years. Brees thrown for 30 or more TDs for eight straight seasons and 4800 yards or more (assuming he has a sub par last game) 5 straight seasons and 6 of the last 8 seasons.

Brees is a system QB. Lots of volume stats ITT
Posted on 12/28/15 at 9:13 am to ShaneTheLegLechler
What system? One the best years for a QB in NFL history came without a head coach. What "system" was he running but his own?
Brady is a proven system QB. He's played every snap under the GOAT coach and had a terrible QB step in his place and become a pro bowl caliber QB

Brees' 2012 season is pretty comparable to Stafford's 2011 year

Kinda like McCown stepping in and throwing for 300+ yards and hit on 80%+ of his passes?

Give Brees 2011's Calvin Johnson and see what happens. Also, that 2011 year by Stafford was one of the greatest ever - better than 95% of Brady's years - and Brees STILL out performed him.
Thanks for proving my point.

thats dumb. dude is going to have or be top 3-5 in virtually every statistic kept for a qb.
Right. And everyone else in the top 5 will all be his contemporaries. Which makes it a little suspicious.

Brady by a mile. He's won with interchangeable parts, while having to play his home games on a natural grass field outdoors. Stats are pretty with the Dome teams, but don't equate to Championships on the field.

Give Brady, Manning, Favre, Marino, etc 650 attempts every season and see what their stats are
