I watched Senna for the 100th time today, as it is back on Netflix. He was so amazing, complex and legendary.

FYI Qualifying has been moved to race day due to a Typhoon. For us that means you can watch qualifying live at 8pm central Saturday.

I doubt it will be on TV anyway. I guess I'll just wake up Sunday and be surprised to see what the grid looks like.

Qualifying is live now. Incredibly windy session. Magnussen and Kubica crashed out of Q1.

Race starts a little after the football game.

Checking in for the race following a great Tigers win and a pitiful Stros loss. Great day for sports though.

Going to try to stay up, Leclerc doesn’t give a damn about wing damage

Whoever finds his wing mirror will have a good souvenir.

Really good race so far. For as slow as the year started it has been banging from about week 6.

VER is all pissed because LEC is the golden boy now.

So much for that hard racing. Welcome to Formula Ferrari.

I think I do to. Too much contact I guess. Especially for today's cars.

Max opened pandoras box earlier in the year by now making the stewards accept contact as 'hard racing.'

Somewhat comical that the style Max brought back into F1 is the style he is bitching about.

Lewis doesn't seem to be enjoying the second part of this year. He knows the drivers championship is wrapped up and hasn't needed that determination that has been required in past years. Almost just going through the motions.

Leclerc hit with 15 seconds of penalties.

5 second for verstappen incident.

10 seconds for not pitting to fix the wing.

I get the 10 second penalty, but the first penalty is bs. Verstappens driving style just came back to bite him.

Probably because of the change of schedule, qualy didn't record for me and I missed it. So how did Ferrari manage a front row lockout when they were nowhere in FP1 & 2?

As for LEC's penalties, the first one I understand. He should know better. I don't quite get the second one. Did race control show him a meatball? If so I didn't see it. I know the team told him to pit but refusing team orders isn't a penalty.

Also speaking of team orders, I'm getting pretty tired of Hamilton griping on the radio about his strategy. How many times has he won a race after pissing and moaning about what tires they put on, or where he came out in traffic or when they pitted him? He didn't win yesterday but the team won the constructor's championship, which when you get down to it, is the only thing they really care about.

Part of the LEC penalty was because of the damage done to other cars because he kept driving with heavy damage. HAM was following behind and taking evasive action not to get pelted. Even Lando caught issues because of track debris.

Wasn't just a penalty for him, but to Ferrari for not bringing him in.

Typical FIA/F1 though, made sure the penalty had no teeth since it was to a top team.

HAM wants to win every time he goes out. What's the point in racing if you aren't trying to win? Merc put him on a strategy not to win, he has the right to bitch. Just like VET and LEC have been bitching when the team plays games with their strategy.

Sure but how many times has he bitched and still won? A bunch.

This is my first year watching F1 and I wanted to like Lewis but he makes it pretty difficult at times.

I don't think anyone knows how they did that. Toto said Ferrari's pace came out of nowhere. Vettel and Leclerc both said they were shocked to lock out the front row.

I guess because the race was 3 hours later, there wasn't the usual examination by the experts. Everyone just moved on quickly to the race.

My theory was based on Vettel saying that there was a headwind into the S Curves. Maybe that increased the downforce enough to cover for their weakness? The wind was pretty strong during qualifying.

I don't mind Lewis but I really hate the F1 media that protect him. They allow him to pretend to be above all the normal politics/games. He wants a strong teammate, he doesn't play politics behind the scenes, he obeys team orders,... They turn him into a victim of bad guys like Rosberg and Alonso even though he's just as guilty as they were when they were his teammates.

Lie-gate
Spygate
He hated being challenged by Rosberg
He lobbied to bring back a clearly overmatched Bottas
He's disobeyed team orders but 'Multi 21' is treated like a terrorist attack

His history is littered with just as many controversies as Vettel, Schumacher, Senna but he's treated like racing Jesus.
