You could have said this in previous years as well. It’s baseball they could lose a series. They clearly have the best lineup.

Market price is around +300, implying a 25% chance. Even if that’s not perfectly accurate, it’s realistically no better than maybe 33%.

Which is the only reason that matters really.

Is Dave Roberts still manager? I’ll go with that

They werent nearly as dominant as they seem this year. This seems like year they won't get beat by some wildcard thats on fire going into the postseason.

Because another team gets hot and beats them

But usually that starts before the postseason, so who is that team this year? Last year it was the Braves and in 2019 it was the Nats who were scorching hot in the 2nd half of the season.

106 and 104 wins in 2017 and 2019. That pretty close to where they are now.

Because they fold like a lawn chair in the postseason just like the 90s Braves

And their only title with the most expensive roster in baseball was only possible with the fresh arms of a 60-game regular season

because baseball is a crazy sport when you try to distill it down to a single best of 5/7

wow, that was easy

Braves have been 76-32 from June 1st onward this season. Not sure what constitutes "hot".

Yeah but they have a run differential of +336 this year, that's pretty insane.

In 2019 it was +273.

That run differential is an outlier in how good it is.

The Braves are at +184. That is WS good most years.

Same reason why they failed to win the World Series in their previous seasons. They build such a huge lead that they always play pretty much zero games with significance in September. Then they have to play a team who had to crawl and fight to make the playoffs who are used to having to win pressure packed games down the stretch. Not surprisingly, that team ends up dealing better with the pressure than the Dodgers and they end up losing to that team in the playoffs.

No closer which is arguably the biggest position in the postseason.
