I still like Love quite a bit. I think his knee injury in week1 affected him all year. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does this year.
He's not a bad QB but he won't be the 3rd HoF QB in a row for the Packers.

Daniels had a good, but not great 2022 season. His biggest issue was being far too risk-averse in the passing game. He had 80 yards passing vs. Auburn. 86 vs. Arkansas. He wasn't consistently lighting up the scoreboard. I wasn't one of them, but I could understand why some fans at that time didn't fully trust a guy who, at times, looked more RB than QB.
It all clicked in 2023 and the rest is history. But it's easy to take a "victory lap" with the benefit of hindsight.

If Mahomes didn’t have the multiple Super Bowls, he’s not top 5 on this list.
When the QB puts up big stats but the defense is ranked 30 we say the QB can’t win, but they upgrade the D, he doesn’t have to put up sick numbers but the team wins, we say he’s not that great anymore

I think this argument is disingenuous. He has a great offensive line, decent skill group, and it's not like they stopped throwing the ball/became risk averse. Watching the games, he's not making the same accurate passes on the intermediate level like he was 2 years ago.

There were just stretches over the last few years where he simply wasn’t elite period. He played poorly and was bailed out by the defense as opposed to “not putting up sick numbers.” It doesn’t mean he’s bad but he sure as hell wasn’t great doing those stretches either. It’s ok to say he hasn’t played as well over the last few years.

Burrow is a stud, but he's played almost his entire career with one of the best receiving trios in the league.
Trio?? Who’s #3? Please don’t say Boyd.
Also, Higgins is consistently hurt.
It’s also disingenuous to say that Allen has no talent on offense.

Sure but youre talking about individual games, in one of my FFB leagues someone cut Mahomes last year and he sat out there for a couple of weeks

Yeah, Mahomes has to bounce back this year. In my mind he’s already lost that top spot to Allen

In no way is that good or playing to win etc.

In 2023 he threw 14 that’s his high for a season and 27 TDs. he threw 2 picks in 3 games they were 2-1 in those games they also won the last game that season and he threw zero picks in 2 road play off game.
That same season Allen threw 18 picks with 29 TDs
If the ranking is for the 2024 season I 100% agree Mahomes was not the best.

Way to not even try and be honest
2023
Allen
44 tds—18 picks—
Mahomes 2023
27 tds—14 picks
Over last two seasons total
Allen
84 tds—24 ints
Mahomes
55 tds—25 ints
That isn’t the same stratosphere

I’m not going to get into a pissing contest with a Bills fan over Allen. I have no qualms with anyone saying Allen is the best QB in the league right now. He’s probably the one I’d rank 1.
My initial comment was simply that’s it’s funny that people will rag on QBs that put up big stats and don’t win and then we turn around and say this guy that won without putting up big stats isn’t so great anymore

Lol, no the KC OL isn't great, it wasn't even good last year. Center and the 2 guards were great until Thuney moved from LG to LT. The skill group was very good until Rice tore his acl in week 4. Mahomes didn't even have a good running game last year to take some pressure off being ranked 22nd. The last 3 years they've been a defensive led team so that dictated how he's played. If Burrow or Allen had been to 7 straight AFC Championship games and 5 of last 6 SB's this board would never shut up about it.

I rag on any moron that doesn’t judge a player based on what they actually contribute and instead use team success
Mahomes was ELITE until 2022. The best QB play ever. He has not been elite the last two years.

And you weren’t the one that made the comment initially replied to.
Fair enough and it’s hard to argue with that.
But, if you have to start a team from scratch and get to pick any QB Mahomes would be one of the first 3-4 at worst.

As a trio, chase, Boyd and Higgins were one of the league's best

Damn too much Mahomes stuff, missed this gem
ETA we do in fact know Daniels was better in 2023
