Robbing old ladies? People get that.

Throwing a game? That's just un-American.

What's your point? That because other players are doing it we shouldn't want Sorsby punished and unable to play CFB ever again? I'm sure there are other players doing it and I want them banned as well.

What we believe is irrelevant.

He admitted to it, therefore it's not up for debate whether he did or not.

The only person who can save us from this nonsense is the AG in Indiana. Bring some charges related to underaged gambling and wire fraud for transferring money to his friend/relative’s sportsbook account to illegally place bets.

His teammates are going to want to beat the shite out of him when he fricks up

Ideally the distrust is already there and that’s what’s going to force the school to move on

That said, Tech has followed the mercenary model and they may not care as long as they get theirs

I do not think he or any athlete has a prayer of managing the pressure that’s going to overwhelm him for the next 6 months

The feds can do something. I’m not saying they should but they could almost certainly get him for wire fraud. When you lie and it involves interstate financial transactions the feds can take it.

Caretaker: Oh I ain't saying you did or you didn't. All I'm saying is that you could have robbed banks, sold dope or stole your grandmother's pension checks and none of us would have minded. But shaving points off of a football game, man that's un-American.

So what if there are others? That should somehow give Sorsby a pass?

It’s precious coming from these LSU astroturfers when Boutte was betting on sports and nobody gave 2 shits. No different than Sorsby, in fact I think Boutte bet on games he was actually playing in

Not only that, he broke the law numerous times by betting underage.

Why is this not a bigger story?

Now that the betting sites go way beyond the game scores and will take bets on individual performances, one crooked player has so many more opportunities for self enrichment.
Until the real money behind the betting gets wind of it and the crooked player gets broken.

Sorsby will be the most scrutinized player next season. Yet, no one seems concerned about all the other players who are most definitely gambling and shaving. It’s been happening for years. But go ahead and pretend it’s one guy,

Almost like making an example of the only guy who they have PROOF did it would help discourage others from doing it and/or continuing to do it.

Use your fricking brain for once.

I am sure that other players are betting, which is exactly why you have to come down hard on the ones that get caught. It’s such a difficult behavior to monitor that the punishment needs to be severe to be an effective deterrent.

Imagine being on a team, knowing the game plan, and knowing the first 20 plays scripted and then placing prop bets on stuff like first play of the game being run or pass

Leonard Fournette and Jarvis Landry were talking about this on their podcast at the absurd money college football players could make if this is ok and how easy it would be to do it

Boutte was long gone from LSU before any of that came out. What did you want LSU to do? Retroactively suspend a guy who was in his second season in the NFL? Boutte was also criminally charged. The charges were inevitably dropped, but he had to deal with a lot more blowback from what he did than Sorsby.

Regardless, he gambled on LSU games when he was out hurt, so no he didn't gamble on LSU games he was playing in. I doubt the state would have dropped the charges against him had that been the case.

Had all that happened while he was still in college, no I don't think he'd have kept playing college football, so what point do you think you're trying to make here?

How tf were we supposed to know that, one? And two, all that came to light after he was gone from LSU.

Consider the source. A point isn’t being made, it’s purely a troll account.
