McElroy is so smart, he has used a fake announcer voice since he was 19.

I think SEC/Big Ten are gonna hold at 16. Why do they need to keep making more moves?

I f Greg McElroy knew about this 2 months ago he’d be blabbing about it anywhere he could.

And he is a cohost on a radio show for three hours a day, five days a week that centers around college football.

I'd guess he heard it from his father.

He's been an exec for the Dodgers, the Cowboys, and ASU. He knows a lot of people in Los Angeles and in the PAC.

Are you mocking LSU fans on here who incessantly talk about Joe Burrow?

WestCoastAg started a thread over 3 months ago about B1G expansion rumors, and to expect something happening this summer.

USC and UCLA, along with Washington and Oregon, were rumored to be heading to the Big10 back in April.

McElroy just needs to be thankful he played on a team with players more talented than he is.

Please!!!!! The staying "competitive" mantra that the SEC and Big 10 trot out is the greatest line of bullshite ever. Fox and ESPN are throwing money around and right now the Big 10 and SEC are the conferences that are ascendant.

The reason for this merger is because USC in particular wants a crack at the money that is being thrown around by the networks. SEC thinks they can get a return on having Oklahoma and Texas ( they won't) Big 10 gets the LA and San Diego and Las Vegas markets.

Folks, all you playoff guys got your wish.....college football just became the NFL. In two years you will have an expanded playoff to 8 teams and in 6 or 7 16 teams.....oh, by the way the SEC championship game as well as the Big 10 Championship game will become irrelevant.Think about it, 16 teams, maybe 3 conferences now.....what would be the point. Sucks for Atlanta and the boys in Birmingham.....really it just sucks.

No, I’m moreso mocking the random cucks on this board that have tried to declare him a bust and/or lesser than other QB prospects over the past few years.

Interesting point about this being a fight between ESPN and FOX, and I think that's a more accurate analysis than Big Ten vs. SEC.

But didn’t Disney buy Fox? Why would these two entities be fighting if they’re owned by the same parent corporation?

Disney bought 21st Century Fox, which had previously split from the Fox broadcasting company.

ESPN then attempted to destroy any non-ESPN entity at the G5 level (MWC and C-USA).
Lots of G5's will be hurt financially from it. It's not intentional. Just a by-product of what's going on.

I remember then NLU President Lawson Swearingen's speech about how much money the program would make by leaving 1-AA, where they had won the 1987 Football National Championship, for D-1A.

I don't think the fans ever wanted it to happen. The ones I know wanted to keep their rivalries around the state/surrounding states, and stay being a big fish in a little pond. Who knows how many more playoffs they would have made, and how may fans would have continued to support the program. The "Money games" were not fun to watch. After moving up in 1993, NLU had losing records for 19 straight years. Who wants to be a fan of that.

The G5's shouldn't have spent the way they have since so many moved up from 1-AA. They made millions from the "Money games" over the last 40 years. Some spent it all upgrading their facilities, hoping to keep moving up to a better conferences.

I think the G5's settle in and rebound from the way this era of college football ends. They don't have much choice.

Scroll down below the map, and check out the list under the heading Former Division I FCS football programs on this wiki page.

Has a single one of them made it to a P5 conference?
