Half the country speculated this was the next domino. There is a difference between speculating and “knowing it’s a done deal.”
I always thought the Matt Browns of the world were foolish for thinking this was a few years away. There was too much smoke. The SEC will make their next move in the next few months, regardless of the fans opinions.
This is a full blown war between Fox and ESPN at this point. ESPN punched Fox by taking Texas and OU. ESPN then attempted to destroy any non-ESPN entity at the G5 level (MWC and C-USA).
B10 will make a few more moves soon and then ESPN entities will counter.

Interesting point about this being a fight between ESPN and FOX, and I think that's a more accurate analysis than Big Ten vs. SEC.
I mean FOX didn't go to the Big Ten & say go get USC/UCLA.. It's a fight between the SEC & Big Ten and they're using ESPN/FOX to see who can make the most $/stay competitive.

don't think so. I think SEC/Big Ten are gonna hold at 16. Why do they need to keep making more moves? ACC, Big 12, Pac 12 are all figuring out what they will do, if anything. Big Ten/SEC don't really need to do anything unless any of their own teams try to make moves.

I knew 4 years ago back when Joe Burrow joined the SEC, that the college football landscape would be destroyed in his wake because he would provide the gold standard in which every program would do anything to chase.
Came to fruition basically immediately. College football is literally dead in his wake.
Joe Burrow and LSU were not only the best team in college football history, they are also the last true Champions before the sport completely went to shite.

Our own Nostradamus, Peej, told everyone this was happening three years ago.

I knew when Riley said he wasn't going to LSU.
quote:
ESPN's Greg McElroy says he knew 2 months ago about Southern California going to Big Ten
McElroy: “I had just gotten out of the shower with Lincoln when he dropped this bombshell on me about USC joining the Big 10. He made me swear not to tell anyone and if I did, we would be finished.”

A couple months ago they wiped the schedules for future big ten conference games from 2023 and on clean. That was a good indicator something was up.
