Sources: ESPN is signing a seven-year deal with the NHL as part of the league's new U.S. media rights package.

There was no confirmation from the NHL on an agreement that is expected to see ESPN get the rights to broadcast four Stanley Cup Finals between 2022 and 2028, plus streaming rights for Disney.

Good for NHL in getting competition for the rights and being able to divide them among multiple major networks. It wasn’t long ago that NBC took those rights for free.

Great now they can bring wokeness to the one sport that probably would have left it all alone.

Melrose is either about to get paid or get pissed that he has to actually work.

Good, maybe this means less NBA talk on ESPN. Of course, less is relative so it still means there will be a shite-ton of NBA talk.

Hell yes! Bring back Thorne and Clement with the badass introductions and intro music! NBC’s coverage has always sucked arse. ESPN finally does something right for change.

Probably won't get Clement. He just retired last year.

I didn’t hear that. But he and Thorne are probably close to 70. So, it’s understandable. I wouldn’t be surprised if Steve Levy was part of the top team.
