Read up on this and believe this is what it is. NHL.tv games are going to ESPN+. Also, NHL had an interest in MLBam with MLB and when that was sold to ESPN the NHL retained their equity share. Basically, they're moving NHL.tv to ESPN+ but won't lose out on that revenue since, basically, the league has an equity stake in ESPN+.

The games that are on NBC/NBCSN now are still up for auction and NBC and Fox are players bidding on that. Possibly even CBS/CBSSN/Paramount.

NHL is going to be very accessible on multiple platforms after this.

Still worried because ESPN kills what it touches. See Monday Night Football.

So many games on ESPN+ and Hulu is very disappointing. I'm guessing the ESPN/ABC games will be after football season.

Thank God. You can never catch a hockey game. They’re always on that random arse CBS sports channel

Hope the teams will keep their regional deals. As it is, I can watch the Stars on Fox Sports Southwest.

ESPN is great at screwing things up. I'm tired of all of the crap I have to do to watch LSU baseball since the advent of the SEC Network. It was so much easier to turn the channel to Cox Sports for 80% of the games. Now I have to have my phone to re-authenticate every game. They waste too much actual SEC Network channel on broadcasts of softball and gymnastics.
Let those small fan bases jump through hoops to see a competition.

I’ve had the same home town announcers for the caps my entire life. If I lose them over this BS and not to retirement I am done watching hockey

I have four different Fox Sports regional channels. Tonight the T'wolves at the Pels are on one at 7pm. The Mavs at OKC are on another at 8pm. I've also got the two games on TNT. I get the Stars and the Rangers all season long.
In "Normal" times, can watch a high school football game from California at 9:30 on Friday nights.

The regional deals are what teams do with local broadcasting.

ESPN has NOTHING to do with this, and can't do a thing about it.

ESPN can't do a thing about MLB local rights.

I enjoy seeing the NHL struggle, so this is bad news for me.
