If she had the chance, she said, she would ask team owner Daniel Snyder if he would ever call her a "redskin" to her face.

she really must have a lot of personal history with a racial term that probably hasn't been in widespread use for 100 years

this would be like me freaking out that somebody called me a wop

Frankly I'm offended that UL-Lafayette calls themselves "the ragin cajuns"... Maybe if they were better.

While we're at it what about the sooners, cornhuskers, tarheels, and hokies...

Montreal has a team named for an entire NATIONALITY. How is that not more of an outrage?

ETA: Vancouver even uses a potential derogatory term for Canadians

Why do the Irish have to be depicted so aggressively? Not all Irish are so aggressive.

The Drinkin' Irish would've been far more appropriate. Shame on you Notre Dame for misrepresenting a proud, drunk nationality.

They should do what these outlets are doing. Since the Redskins ownership is refusing to change the racist name of their organization the media has a responsibility to not comply with the wishes of the greedy owner. If the media stops calling them the Redskins maybe the owner will change his mind.

No, the media is supposed to be impartial, they should not take on an activist role. If public opinion demands they make a change, then they should.

How about espn report on sports and stay out of politics/social agendas?

Personally I like to watch sports to escape the liberal pc crap on every other channel.

Good point. The nickname of a football team has nothing to do with sports at all!
