Only a dumbass Louisiana message board would ask this question.

It’s Rodger’s and it’s not even close.

One pushes ball down field. The other is a check down king.

Poll 100 random NFL fans- 85 or more are picking Rodgers.

This isn’t even a debate.

5. Montana

If you had one game to win.

Hard pressed to not pick him.

Go watch his duel with John Elway on MNF when he was an old man (Chiefs vs. Broncos 1994,). ..They called his exploits "Montana Magic" for a reason.

Because he won a Super Bowl with a team coached by Mike McCarthy.

Brees’ best pass catchers were one all-pro WR, a converted 6th round TE and another TE who did nothing elsewhere. Rogers had 4 pro bowl WRs on the same roster and had 3 Pro-Bowl WRs on another roster. He had better backs as well. I like Rogers but he isn’t any better than Brees.

Brees seems like a normal dude who you could hang out with. Rodgers seems weird. Has those shifty eyes when he talks to you. He just needs to come out of the closet.

Rodgers never had a Colston, Michael Thomas, or Jimmy Graham

You say that like Brees was the reason the Saints didn’t achieve as much as they should have?

The Saints had two more super bowls in them but gave up the ghost against the 49ers and were screwed with a horrible no call against the Rams.

I’m not going to argue who is “better” because any claim is going to be thin when comparing the two.

Brees had more statistical success but Rodgers is the most naturally talented passer I’ve ever seen. They both have their spot. If someone says you’re not as good of a qb as Aaron Rogers it’s no great snub.

Honestly I don’t know. Do I think Rodgers had more arm talent than Brees. Yes. Do I think Rodgers especially peak rodgers was always willing to play within a system and take the available throws to keep drives going…not always. To me, the guy has always had a tendency to play hero ball and rely on his immense talent a bit too much. Instead of taking the easy throw he’d instead go for the 15 yard out.

So while more talented I can’t say that he would’ve had significantly more championship success because Brees and his accuracy likely fit Payton’s system more. It’s also not like Brees was ever really the issue on the teams that fell short.

Rodgers has also been given a semi pass for “not having guys he trusts” outside of Davante and Jordy Nelson for much of his career. I think Brees did a much better job of bringing the Lance Moore’s, Dave Thomas’ and Devery’s of the world into the fold.

Rodgers gets so much love for the "non-stat" things like arm talent and "just watch and you'll see" - which is fine. I think watching both at their peak, Rodgers "looks" better.

However, statistically as presented earlier, the only real difference at this point is Drew has more INTs. Rodgers has more MVPs but as we can see from those stats presented, wasn't miles better.

Rodgers has been in far more opportunities to advance deep in the playoff than Drew had - and choked nearly every single time.

One of the biggest NFL understatements is how big of a playoff choker Aaron Rodgers is. How many NFCCGs has he lost?

My litmus test.... If I owned a team and it was like pick sandlot teams...and my two choices were Rodgers or Brees...my pick is Rodgers ( I'm not heartbroken at getting Brees)

McCarthy's offenses have been much better without Rodgers than Payton's offenses have been without Brees. In nine years as OC and HC without Brees, Payton's had zero offenses that have ranked in the top 10 in scoring offense. The Cowboys have ranked in the top 5 in scoring offense three times with McCarthy as their HC and he also coordinated a top 5 scoring offense with Aaron Brooks as his starting QB in 2002.

From an outsider looking in who doesn't religiously watch a lot of pro football when I think of Brees I think of open receivers in the seam or streaking up the sideline and those perfectly placed long balls and all those underneath routes that set those up.

When I think Rodgers I think of all those back shoulder and corner routes thrown to what looked like covered receivers yet the ball is placed right where it needs to be for the receiver to catch it and you are left wondering "how did he do that"

One feels like a perfect blend of decision making and ball placement in a scheme that suited his talents.

The other feels like a generational arm talent who could make any passing window from any throwing platform (pocket, running lefft or right). That's sort of my personla take between the two.

This is always such a poor argument. If there was ever a guy that got absolutely shafted by the seemingly annual fluctuating MVP criteria it was Brees. 2006 Ladanian Thomlinson puts up unreal raw stats to get it over Brees who led a 2-14 team to a record of 10-6 and NFC title birth. 2009 (the biggest screw job) better than Manning in essentially every statistical category and more efficient. 2011 better than Rodgers in the raw numbers but they decide they want ultra efficient that year. The award is a joke.

Rodgers would have clashed with Sean Payton. Despite his incredible talent, Rodgers has a problem getting along with coaches.

Actually he did have Graham, who was better with Brees which is why you don’t remember him playing with Rogers. He also had Devonte Adams, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and this new kid in NY. The next best WR who played with Brees was Brandin Cooks.
