Easy Fix to the Conference Championship Issue
Quit playing them, it was always nothing but a money grab.

So a Bama fan wants to eliminate this loophole after y'all benefited from it twice.

Texas A&M does not benefit from this situation. They are now forced to play an extra elimination game.
Probably against a G5 team at home after some rest, which will serve as a tune up for their big game in the second round. That seems better to me then having to play UGA in Atlanta next week.
Having said that, aTm hasn't played for a conference championship since the 90s so they have to be a little bit thirsty in that regard

If anyone is upset about A&M losing last night, it is UGA.
Even funnier is an Alabama fan bitching about having to play a championship game when they argued they didn’t matter in 2011 when it worked in their favor.
Bama fans are the biggest joke in sports, which is saying a lot.

Nothing sad about it, it was a game the SEC created out of greed. They need to eliminate these games.
It was a game created when no one could fathom a playoff system requiring three or four more games after the regular season ended…

The Sec championship was amazing until they expanded the playoff

There is no conference championship game issue. Win your games and it doesn’t matter. Wishcasting to back door way into a 12 team playoff is stupid.

or solidify the final bracket before the conference championship ensuring they have no bearing on anything, and let the kids go win a conference

And risk injury before the CFP?

Get rid of conference title games, it's that simple
Will never happen, too much money

It cost teams a shot at a NC and benefited teams that didn’t have to play in it even before the BCS.

This makes too much sense and won’t allow for manipulation of the bracket, ncaa simply can’t do it

You guys are talking about a non issue. The playoff field will expand to 24 or 32 within a decade. The conference championship games will disappear but conference play in games will replace them and bring in more money.
Future generations will laugh at the stupidity of the first 150 years of this sport and the record books will be nothing but an asterisk.

The stakes of the game being pretty low for Ohio State is what is sad.
The benefit earned from not losing to terrible teams.

CCG weekend should be changed to “play-in” weekend, where these fringe contenders duke it out at neutral sites normally used for CCGs
