what is the definition of transgender? wasn't this word made up within the last 10 years? back in the day you were homosexual (whether male or female) or a transvestite (wearing opposite gender clothing) or both. that was pretty much all there were. how does one "come out" as transgender, whatever that actually means.

Not exposing your child to the perversities of Hollywood and the entertainment industry is a good start.
Maybe the kid turns out fruity no matter what, so be it, but it's also no coincidence that so many rich, famous people's kids turned out so messed up.

First of all transgender and gay are not the same thing. Transgender does not exist since you cannot transition to another gender. So if I had a son who claimed to be female then I would not conform with what he was thinking.

This. The world should not know the status of your minor child's sexuality or gender confusion.
Using them as virtue signalling beacons is disgusting.
If they have issues, they have issues, deal with them privately, if they wanna become trannies later in life, so be it. Stop exploiting them.

12 year old mind's are not fully developed yet. What if he told his parents he thought he was a rapist? Should he support him and say sure whatever you want son. It's up to the parents to teach him right from wrong. Kids are very impressionable, they change like the wind. Kids need structure and not yea whatever you want or feel like you can do. To me that's easy parenting. Parenting is hard and sometimes its hard to tell your kids no when you know it's the best for them in the long run. Don't be their best friend be their parent first .
