Brotha let me spell it out for you. Continuity is developed when the same guys play together. Roles are defined. When key players are always injured they ain't playing together and there is no continuity.
it's mind boggling that people will come and try to argue with me about a team that I follow daily when all they do is at best watch the highlights. It's like me jumping in a NHL thread and acting like I know what I'm talking about because I watch sports center, and know how to use google

Can you give us an overview of continuity as it pertains to injuries (excuse) and rust (reason)?

naw bro you're smart enough to know better. I was only explaining it to him bc I think he may genuinely not know that lack of continuity is caused by injuries.

Howard is a smart guy-as far in he know how to protect himself, he's reading the tea leaves here.
The "problem" was McHale.
Harden is the mvp candidate-so his flaws get a pass(much like Dwight in ORL)
Lawson is a drunk but everyone knows it.
Howard sees that he will get blamed for their woes going forward(Much like he did in LA), so while he still has value his agents are going to float this.

quote:Although Shel has already pointed out the flaws in this argument, there are some additional data that show that this is not an apt comparison.
Cavs last season were at .500 after 40 games
For example, even when the Cavs were 19-20 through 39 games, their + - for the season was -12, or -0.31 per game. Furthermore, they were -100 in those 9 games Lebron sat (-11.38 per game) so they were + 88 (+2.93) the 30 games he played.
On the other hand, through 26 games the Rockets have a + - of -78, or an -3 per game. The standard error of that the -3 estimate is 2.22.
This indicates that unless something changes significantly, there is about a 90% chance that your true + - is < 0. And unlike the Cavs, your best player (Harden) has not only played every game, he is average a career high in minutes per game (38.5).

The absurdity of his arguments (and doubling down on them) is the schtick which one must resist
