Watching dolphins/bears OT after the redskins/panthers game ends and they showed the dolphins entire drive and fumble at the goal line and then the bears miss a fg. now 2 min left, they cut away. Fox says "due to nfl rules" we have to show you highlights from around the league. wtf is that Roger? what possibly could be the reason for that assfrick rule?

Funny because they showed the whole ot of another game and caused everyone to miss over a quarter of the saints game.

Hey there's another reason why the NFL is lame af and should only be enjoyed like wrestling is enjoyed.

The NFL has an archaic TV package. They haven't caught on to the idea that teams have fans all across the country now

Yep. Absolutely nothing like the league forcing fans to miss the conclusion of a nail biter. Stupid fricking run league. I swear they are begging fans to disappear.

NFL has the most mind boggling tv schedule. I can watch up to 10 college football games at a time but often stuck with 1 NFL game at a time.

Its a dumb rule, but it’s not going to make people stop watching.

“frick this bullshite. I’m never watching again!”

Because a whole bunch of people pay a whole lot of money to watch all of the games, that's why.

But I couldn't wait to hear Terry Bradshaw giving highlights and mispronounce names!

I’d guess CBS has exclusive NFL rights to show games after a certain time. Makes it easier to sell commercials at a higher price.

The 3:30 NFL National Broadcast game is the reason. The NFL has it written in the TV contracts that once that game starts all other non local market games must be taken off the air. Doesn't matter if it's Fox or CBS

and companies pay a shite-ton of money to advertise on NFL games on specific networks: for all the viewers, not just the ones that don't care about the one in late overtime: where no more ads are even playing

At least they didn't cut-away to Heidi.

When they showed highlights, did they show the highlights of the Dolphins win?

Kind of like Alabama in the playoffs every year, you can expect Roman Reigns to be in the main event every month. Your lame wrestling comparison fits more with NCAA FB than the NFL.

No I meant the neat storylines and fake nature of each.

The NFL is best enjoyed not taking it seriously at all.

All of sports should be viewed that way. The best way to follow sports is to laugh at the way sports is covered

That's been around for a while. If they cut away to a different game when the one you were watching is done, they can only show a certain amount of time.

Not saying it's a good rule, but it's nothing new.

I hear you.

But I get pretty passionate about college football.

Automatic first downs alone keep me from buying into the NFL these days.

The rules help manufacture so much bullshite offense and that's with offense being easier than ever
