I think so

I know that sounds hyperbolic, but MLB owners can’t be profiting enough from WBC to justify risking their assets

If it had to happen though, it at least bit the right owner in the arse

Baseball players have been finding the stupidest ways to get injured since the beginning of time. This doesn’t change that

Maybe don't do the haka dance in a circle after a pool play win.

I’ve enjoyed the games I’ve seen

The fans, esp that game, have been genuinely excited

It’s just that the fact remains that this is an exhibition for professionals under contract

Absolutely not. Maybe don't do whatever he was doing.

So is the soccer World Cup and the Olympics

I think with endorsements and other financial considerations, there’s a better argument for a participant in those events

WBC doesn’t have that going for it yet

But you’re not wrong. I just think owners might be more understanding about Olympics andWorld Cup once every 4 years

Every big contract need to have a no WBC clause.

I'm sure that the Mets are insured for this exact scenario but now Diaz is getting paid 20 million this year to sit on his arse and his team is without a closer because of a stupid celebration in a meaningless fricking game.

I'm no Cohen fan, but cheering for injury is bad juju, man.

I’m far from a Mets fan, but aside from them, how about his teammates and staff?

You know where the FO stands

I bet even the MLBPA isn’t ecstatic about it

That's the risk you take.

Diaz wanted to represent his country. Can't fault a guy there.

What you can fault him for is for being a fricking idiot and celebrating like that
