I might be the outlier on this board, but I think Simmons isn't too far off base when he said Doc quit on the C's.

This would all have already gone away if Doc could just refrain from commenting. He's a fricking NBA coach. It's weird that an analyst seems to be getting under his skin.

I enjoy the fact that Simmons acts like a fan for the most part, and although I also think Doc quit on the Celtics, Simmons acted much more like a fan in the heat of the moment rather than the person who was there to cover the draft.

Yep if it was any team besides the Celtics, Simmons would'nt have acted like that. Even though he's probably correct, the way he acted was very amateurish.

I do remember Simmons calling Doc one of the worst coaches in the league before they got the Big 3 and hating the fact that they gave him am extention

I know, im not trying holding it against him. Just thought it should be mentioned to try and make the letter to the owner thing seem believable

Methinks that Bill Simmons ego and sense of self-worth has gotten well out of hand. When you are a fan and an analyst, you have to separate the two. He can't. He always thinks he's the smartest basketball guy in every room and won't let anyone tell him anything.

Simmons isn't a journalist. He's a fan, and he's open about it.
Not sure why ESPN let's him do TV. Just stick to reality shite and Boston fan boi columns like he used to do.
