i dont care about the students suit against the sec, i'm just saying you have no proof, nor has it been shown anywhere yet, that LSU talked these players into suing the NCAA and subsequently the SEC to come back for a 5th year. Continuing to state it doesn't make it so. Hell Harris said Ole Miss was recruiting him back first but he didn't want to play OL.

The fear is that a player's suit will lead to proof of this exact scenario.

i'm not saying its an impossibility, but you keep talking like its an accepted fact when to this point it very much is not.

Maybe I’m wrong here. But if the players are suing the NCAA and SEC and NOT LSU, would the LSU attorneys and attorneys supposedly complicit with LSU repping the players not also have this same fear of discovery?

If Lane really did orchestrate this entire thing seems like we’d be doing everything we could to get these guys to go away.

What happens if they come out and just say yeah we talked to him but we also talked to these other 5 schools?

It would have nuclear potential for a situation that seems to have been settled last night when LSU bent the knee.

That's why LSU paying these guys to go away and release the SEC/NCAA/LSU is the rational play.

Good question, not sure anyone knows. We know Harris was speaking with Ole Miss. At least per him.

The financial blow to the SEC wouldn't end up being all that bad in the long run.

I think it would top a mind boggling amount of money just on TV and revenue contracts alone.

You think the SEC would lose that much replacing LSU with a Miami or FSU?

Exactly.

The federal suit is much bigger than LSU or this one situation, which is why it was always going on, even if LSU bent the knee like we did.

Bending the knee got LSU out of potential hot water Thursday, but was never going to impact Wednesday.

From pretty much ever legal account the case today was written extremely poorly by the SEC to the point it had to be amended multiple times and ati had some egregious Hail Mary attempts in it

i'm not going to pretend to know whether he did or didn't, but no one from Ole Miss has refuted it.

Yes. Florida State is a dying athletic department and neither TV market is close to south Louisiana for CFB viewing.

Mainly because of how poor the ACC is

Miami and FSU are national brands when they are good.

No, they are a relatively poor donor base.

To an extent. But Tallahassee and south Florida aren’t in the top 20 tv markets

Is Miami-Ft Lauderdale TV market bigger or smaller than Br-NO? Pretty sure it's well ahead.

Miami for sure but I don’t think FSU has a national following despite being good or bad. More of a regional brand.
