I tend to agree. The sport is watered down and dealing with a major tanking issue. No fan wants a team to roll in just so they can lose 60+ games a year. The novelty will wear off real fast.

Pelicans not going anywhere. Gayle will eventually sell it to a new owner/group that wants to keep it here. She is on record saying so

Actually, what she said was that that the team would be sold to someone that would keep it here AFTER SHE DIES.

The arrangement, which has been approved by the NFL, is similar to what happened after Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson died in 2014 and the team was later sold to Terry and Kim Pegula.

Benson, 74, and Saints president Dennis Lauscha, who would serve as the executor of her estate, said the proceeds would be distributed to charities that benefit the people of New Orleans

Gayle is not selling otherwise. She has no heirs, she makes money hand over fist regardless of how the team does, and she will NOT sully her name and reputation in this city as being the one who allowed our NBA team to go away.

She also is a pretty healthy woman who just turned 79, and will likely live another 10 years, so, no-- the Pelicans will not actually relocate in the next 10 years.

They won’t relocated because Gayle wouldn’t sell the team and she is making money hand over fist on the current tv deal.

Crowds are fine when they are winning. When Chris Paul and David West et al were here they could fill the place. I went to a playoff game against San Antonio and the place was loud and raucous. Same when AD took them to the playoffs and in a zone. In the first part of the 22-23 season they had very good attendance because they were winning. After Zion got hurt and they began to lose interest absolutely waned

BTW , this year Zion is definitely NOT the problem

Winning would do a number on filling the seats.

If you can solve the team culture and get some productive talent on the court that wins games.

The problems solves itself. Until you can at least be in the hunt for the playoffs, you are essentially the Washington Generals of the NBA.

Also, does putting us in the west limit our chances of making the playoffs with so many good teams in the west. Let's say we played in the east, would we have a more manageable schedule and have more playoff seasons.

One other thing, the NBA season is way to long in my opinion. Too many games, it waters down the excitement and enthusiasm for a home game when you may have two or 3 home games in a row. Not to mention the over priced warmed over food.

They may, but I hope not. With so many games having to be streamed, I would miss their games on Gulf Coast Sports.

I love the Pel's rookies Derick Queen and Jeremiah Fears, but Pelicans ownership really does a great job of making it hard to keep being a fan. They've let so many good players go over the last few of years.

Brandon Ingram
Dyson Daniels
Naji Marshall
CJ McCollum
Jonas Valanciunas
Jose Alvarado

I've been a Mavs fan since the 80's when I moved to Dallas, but I moved back to Louisiana in 2011 and see more Pelicans games than any other team. They had won me over a couple of years ago, but the team getting so much worse so quickly is a real kick in the gut.

I wonder what the support in OKC would have been if they had same record as Pelicans
