Bryce Harper said Angel Hernandez told him Harper would realize he swung after seeing the replay “Angel in the middle of something again. Its every year, same story, same thing. Its the same thing over & over and over again. Im probably going to get fined for being right, again”

One thing to be completely incompetent at job but on top of it, he's an egotistical jackass.

Out of the big three major sports, MLB is the hardest one to tilt due to so many uncontrollable factors that go into the sport. You would have to go full Eric Gregg in order to really secure an outcome of a game, but we've seen MLB back this before.

The protection that officials like AH get in all sports should wake people up as to what you are watching.

Are you not entertained by his "incompetence"? lololol

I'd have been happy to see Harper get down on his hands and knees and write in the dirt in huge letters, "ANGEL IS THE WORST UMPIRE IN MLB AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT" so that the TV would have had to focus on it to see what he was writing.

To be fair, w/o officials, there are no sports.

But the incompetent ones need to be weeded out.

That's the problem. In every major sport, they aren't. In fact, you see many of the worst offenders rewarded with bigger and bigger games. At that point, you would have to be foolish to ignore the reasons why this happens.

The NBA is the most obvious with the NFL running a very close second.

We agree on the incompetent officials, and I can speak to it b/c I'm also an official .

But I'm not going where you're going w/the "fixed" narrative

Really, what is the answer here? Why can’t they fire him?

Because they've tried before and he's brought racial discrimination lawsuits against them each time.

He's potentially the worst umpire in league history.

That last part got me when they showed the replay...

In the postseason, you’re not securing the outcome of a game, but a series. A slight tilt of multiple games would make a huge difference in a competitive series.

Crazy when your boss goes under oath and points out how bad you are at your job.

Almost as bad as the foul ball/passed ball miss in the Cubs-Braves game on Wednesday night.

No it was an awful call but Harper looked like a crazy person for his meltdown.

Once an ump has an obvious record of bad calls, which Angel Hernandez CLEARLY has had, he needs to be fired. Harper will be fined but he needs to keep the heat up. It's time for this ump to GTFO.

I’m legit shocked he hasn’t gotten attacked on the field or in the clubhouse.

MLB has been calling these very questionable "check swings" swings since April. Anyone who watches MLB on a regular basis this season has to have noticed.

Was it questionable? Yes, but there have probably been hundreds just like it called this season. The fact that it was Bryce crying about it and Hernandez on the other end just makes it a topic.
