Ohio is definitely the most hardcore "football" state in the region - factoring in NFL they are definitely up there nationally.

I don’t really understand why I’m getting downvoted

If we were to define this vast country with enormously different political/value systems with one state name me one better than Ohio? Personally I don’t think anyone can, but if they attempt to It will be one of the state’s immediately bordering Ohio.

And I think that PSU poster is an alter.

He is rocking DisplacedBuckeye’s old schtick but he kind of sucks at it.

My money is on it being a FightinBob alter if that account turns out to be an alter.

The number of influential coaches who are either from Ohio or who have backgrounds there is staggering. Just at LSU there's been: Paul Dietzel, Bill Arnsparger, and Nick Saban. Otoh Illinois and Indiana don't seem to have much FB culture

They think they’re superior. I think top to bottom, their universities are probably better academic institutions than those in the SEC. Funny how Christine Brennan shite on the SEC, but threw out just a couple of mentions to the ACC. I guess Duke, Carolina, Wake, Virginia, FSU, and Georgia Tech are shite schools.

The issue isn't what regular folks think. It's the narrative that the media pushes. Every national sports-writer has multiple ADs and people in the Big Ten office that feed them info. The media protects them like they're siblings.

The media arrogance through this has, thankfully, opened a lot more eyes.

The issue is major journalists come through the same few schools.

You graduated in ME from GT?

You’re ignorant.

You graduated from Alabama’s law school?

You’re ignorant.

You graduated from LSU’s IA school?

You’re ignorant.

Repeat forever.

I'd say yes, probably. Living in Cincinnati and in close contact with a lot of Buckeyes, they think they are morally and academically superior, for sure.

When I had finally had enough and showed them the admissions standards and test scores for UGA incoming freshman versus Ohio State, they were SHOCKED. I'm still not sure they believe it.

They also definitely consider us all racist idiots. It's funny most of the time as good natured ribbing and shite talk. Like anything, you can tell it's also how they actually feel, though.

All D1 football programs are the same
None of them have any morals and football is number one
Some are just much better than others at doing that

I think the biggest difference is that even the SEC schools without much FB history still care a lot about it and are willing to do what it takes to compete

So you're saying they cheat? More than others? What are you saying?

I know the SEC has been infamous in the past for accepting and graduating players that couldn't read.

Is that doing what it takes? Bringing in mercernaries?
Or are we just talking about the standard $100 handshakes that happens everywhere?

Nah I think there's plenty of ADs in power 5 conferences without much commitment to FB success. The SEC is the exception with having only one member (Vanderbilt) who dgaf; most conferences have several

Michigan was one of the first to implement Affirmative action for their students. So if racism is morally superior then I guess they have that going for them.

The ACC is every bit as good an academic conference. Especially when you add Notre Dame to the mix.

No, THEY THINK THEY are.

That's always been the dealio, they think they are smarter than everyone. The fact that they share research info to each other(inculding chicago u,etc) is a windfall for the Universities, academically, but after that, they aren't special.

They let Nebraska in for christs sake, the N on the helmets is because of Nowledge
