Dirk didn't really rip other players nor did he mention black people. Hell, his quote sounds like something Charles Barkley would say.

Rap has kind of become hipster now. You still have gangsta stuff but some of the most popular rappers (J Cole, Uzi Vert, Childish Gambino) are very hipsterish.

Good point. Quite true.

This has NOTHING to do with what Dirk said. I mean nothing not even relatively close.

He just wanted an excuse to take shots at young people. Found dirk quote and used it as justification to his racism. OP probably hates when rap music is played in tiger stadium even if players, coaches, and students want to hear it. “The whole world is going to hell” right?

I hope dirk isn’t talking about Luka Doncic. That kid is the truth.

My iPhone reminds me weekly that I’m in with the rap culture. Screen time per day keeps getting higher and higher.

I'd be a little surprised if it was directed at Luka considering it's been reported by several different DFW sports peeps that he really hates to lose.

Interesting that David Silver spoke about the same issue this week in terms of the mental health of players.

Silver is worried players are increasingly isolated and anxiety is more problematic with current players. Party due to increased acceptance and openness to discuss such issues in society, but social media definitely plays a role.

There isn’t as much camaraderie within teams anymore. Dirk has a unique insight. He’s been in the same locker room for two decades. He’s noticed the change. More and more studies have linked social media with depression.

Fame and fortune are great, but those things are also isolating. Problems are magnified when players immediately jump into the cesspool of social media after a game instead of bonding with their teammates. The same teammates that know you, and have similar interests, goals, and lifestyles. Players are instead heading to social media full of strangers, critics, and trolls.

Ask any former professional athlete what they miss about the game once retiring. Every single one will list the locker room near the top of their list. Current players don’t have that bond.

Yep. This man right here is not the "get off my lawn, rap kids" type.
