The fan base for Ragin Cajun athletics is just not very big. My house is only five miles from the university campus. I would estimate that one-fifth of the residents in my neighborhood are ULL fans. Businesses that are donating millions to that university's athletic program are wasting their money.

The university is one of the main economic engines for the city, so businesses and residents who benefit from Lafayette Parish’s economy should be encouraged to invest in it.
Kind of funny you enjoy the perks of living within 5 miles from a beautiful university campus and you're wanting businesses to disinvest from the university.

LSU fans being so defensive about UL is bizarre. You don’t see UGA doing this regarding Georgia Southern or Auburn doing it with Troy.

Graduates of UL, ULM, LaTech, and any other instate university that are Tiger fans first are just as bad as the Walmart fans.
The LSU grads I know, for the most part don’t care.

I believe it is because the Valiant LSU fans don't see it as punching down at ULL but instead advocating for ULM to be treated as an equal as ULL.
It's quite honorable of LSU fans to ally with their Warhawk brothers.

I’ve never in my life seen anything more pathetic than a school administrator contacting ESPN and demanding to be called a name that is not the school name.
