Pistons player deserves a 30 game suspension.

This is a watershed moment for the league.
I'm all for a lengthy and even 30 game suspension like you said, but it's not a "watershed moment"

So you just going to ignore Wagner shoving the pistons guy towards the bench?

At the absolute worst, he would have gotten a flagrant 1 for that move if things didn't go off the rails.

Im not even certain he fouled him at all

He tucks his shoulder to shield him and check him out of bounds, but he misses and the minimal contact that does occur is from the pistons player setting up his flop jump

Oh, he definitely fouled him.

He 100% changed his course to make contact and gave him a slight shove.

No question it was a foul.

He absolutely changes directions to get in his way and try to intimate contact. I’m just not certain he actually is the one who did initiate it. It looks like he whiffs and his shoulder does behind Hayes. But it’s very close and since he was trying to foul him I have no issue with a foul being called on Wagner

What is clear, is the flop is the only reason Hayes went “flying”

Bottom line though is although Wagner only committed a common foul and did nothing else afterwards, he will get 2 games suspension and Hayes will get 4

Silver will be terrified of suspending the black player a long time while the white player gets little to nothing. It just won’t happen IMHO

Hayes got 3 games
Wagner got 2 games

A bunch of other guys got 1 game

Hayes, who struck Wagner in the back of the head, was given a three-game suspension without pay. Wagner was banned two games and the Pistons' Hamidou Diallo was suspended one game by NBA executive vice president Joe Dumars -- the former Pistons star player and executive.

The fallout from the game in Detroit on Wednesday night was so large that the suspensions of the Magic players will be staggered so they have enough available players to play their next game.

Cole Anthony, R.J. Hampton, Gary Harris, Kevon Harris, Admiral Schofield, Franz Wagner, Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. were all suspended one game.

????

Dude shoved the Pistons guy out of bounds and failed to make a basketball play on a ball he could have gotten. Flagrant 2 was well deserved

If that was two black players, or races reversed, you would see a 10 game suspension minimum

If Wagner’s play warrants 2 games there should be multi game suspensions every single night as well

Also for the life of me I don’t see how this can be on video, and no criminal charges are pressed. It makes zero logical sense

2 games for a box out that happens dozens of times every single game

3 games for a sucker punch to the head

2 for Diallo
1-2 for Wagner
1 for each of the Magic players staggered over 3-4 games

10-15 for Hayes
That would have been appropriate

I can't take the NBA seriously any more. Suspend Wagner? Fine. Give him two games.

Hayes sought him out, threw a punch to the back of Wagners head while he was wrapped up with other guys on the bench. That's a whole other ball of wax.

3 games is a joke. NBA is all about white guilt optics. If this was black on black and a recognizable face, Hayes would be out minimum...15+ games.

Silver is scared to death of his woke players.

This thread is full of people defending white guilt and is pretty indicative of society today. The NBA is shite and continues to be shite.

Lifetime ban would have been appropriate. That prison yard bullshite has no place on a basketball court.

Silver is hilariously afraid to do anything to punish a black person.

He should be prosecuted.

If a man hits another man outside of a ring and especially without pads on with the intent to injure its felonious assault. In this case captured on film with tens of thousands of eye witnesses.

Just saw it happened with charges being filed after the Mich St - Mich game, no idea why this wouldn’t be the same.

I don’t care what a sports commissioner thinks about it, a crime was committed and a guy could’ve been seriously injured as a result.
