I mean, he had the endurance to stay in the fight after taking a beating, and struck when Volkov exposed his face. It wasn't luck. Volkov got too close with his knee attempt and paid the price. It wasn't like he slipped or anything. But DC will destroy him, mainly due to his superior wrestling skills.

Don't get me wrong. I like both him and Cormier. But if you've lost every second of the fight and have been doing nothing but wildly throwing big overhand right whiffs all night and one finally just so happens to land with 10 seconds left in the fight, then that's pure luck.

I don't think it is luck, it is just who he is. He isn't a technical fighter he is a brawler with power, heart, and a chin.
