It blows my mind, because the Browns are just bad. They have very little going for them. I consider Anderson a decent NFL quarterback. I hope the guy does well wherever he ends up. Good for him anyway.

I think we will see improvement starting this year with Holmgren in charge. The front office and coaching has been terrible since 1999.

As far as the small percentage of Cleveland fans who booed Anderson and Tim Couch when they were injured Im embarrased. Thats not the majority by any means. It really pissed me off about Couch. He was a warrior for us, took a freakin beating and kept coming. Took us to our only playoffs since we came back into the league. I was at the Dome when he took us about 80 yards in 20 seconds to win our first game.

Go Browns!

It just pains me to have to see the words "Pro Bowler" and "Derek Anderson" so close together.

He just put out an apology:

quote:

“I said some things to (The News-Herald's) Jeff Schudel earlier that I regret. Those of you who got to know me personally from covering the Browns over the past five years, know this was out of character for me. I wasn’t taken out of context, but I was speaking out of my frustration after my career with the Browns came to a close.

“I had some great times playing in Cleveland, especially during the 2007 season and I met some great people and made many lifelong friends along the way. I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life.”

I've always thought Holmgren could turn just about any team around. If nothing else I see improvement in the future. I sort of pull for the Browns just because they've been so bad.

Bitch made move...stand by your words. I'm sure his agent got in his ear and told him that doesn't look good to other possible teams that he could go to. It comes across like you don't accept your failures and blame everyone else. No one likes a bitter and whiney blah blah blah....

He shoulda double down on the previous statement and then went Samuel Jackson on'em....Yeah I said it....and I hope they burn in Hell!!!!

Dont let the door hit you on the way out DA. Also, i was at the game when DA got injured, i think some of the fans were cheering because we had Toledo native Bruce Gradkowski coming in to QB. A lot of fans were cheering him and not booing DA. Anyway, Cleveland fans are absolutely starving for a championship caliber team. We love our Browns and just want a winner. DA is a loser. All he had to do was beat the sorry Bengals in 07' to take us to the playoffs and he throws 5 ints in that game and we lose and miss the playoffs. Browns fans were done with him then. His little tantrum shows more about him then about the fans of Cleveland. We still payed money to watch his sorry arse lose game after game in Cleveland. What more does he want? Good luck finding a new team to "roll" with!!!

Im far from miserable. I dont even live in Cleveland. DA is what he is....a back up QB at best. DA was just pissed that we were more excited about an Ohio kid coming in to play QB, as he was being carried off the field.

Agree with this 100%

Cheering when one of our Quarterbacks gets hurt whether its Anderson or Tim Couch is sickening. No excuse and bush league. That situation with Couch made me ashamed to be a Cleveland fan that day.

Gradkowski does suck, but at that time, we had just signed him after a decent stint in Tampa and we were DONE with watching DA. I wasnt cheering for DA to get hurt, but i was cheering when Gradkowski was coming on to the field. DA just assumed that we all were cheering his injury...some probably were, but you will ALWAYS have idiots.

The fans are ruthless and don't deserve a winner.

Then they have had the right QB's since about 1993. Cleveland fans are the most disillusioned and depressing fans I know. Every year, all they hope for is to suck a little less than the year before. And they are so disillusioned, they think that is possible.

They should have let that river burn.
