When has Colorado ever been troubled by off-field drama

The Gary Barnett/Katie Hnida stuff pushed their administration to de-emphasize football for a long, long time.

This. CU was a poster child for being troubled by off-field drama. They basically gave up on football for years.

The Buffaloes coach was listed as the second-worst coach in the Big 12 Conference entering the 2024 season.

If this is what he's talking about he is a petty SOB. I was wondering if maybe CBS had backed off of hiring him at some point during his NFL analyst days.

A "real" coach wouldn't give two shits about a coaches ranking from some internet click bait page. Wasn't Deion a studio host? Didn't he dog out certain players and coaches for not performing? Quit being a little bitch and either coach the team like they deserve or quit.

Colorado has to hate all of this

I don’t think they care at all about football. If it works out great. If not—nothing lost because they were trash for a decade.

So some writer somewhere said Deion was not a good coach so he refuses to answer a question from a different guy who had absolutely nothing to do with it. How stupid & petty can one man be?

Deion has always been a diva but back in his younger days he was a generational talent. Now he talks (or doesn’t in this case) so much shite for someone that’s a shitty head coach

He failed so hard at trying to emulate those IMG type academies and screwed over all those kids. But somehow ended up with HC gigs

Deion needs to win and I hope he doesn't.

I just watched the press conference and wtf is Deion trying to accomplish with this? The reports were local and trying to ask legitimate questions and he was being so contriving. He always tweets religious stuff but then acts like that to other people. What a hypocrite

The Denver Post was not kind to him

quote:

BOULDER — A 4-8 coach gave a 3-9 news conference. This was Deposition Deion, a cornered and condescending man, the perennial victim who ain’t got time for mere mortals.

quote:

This was the Deion Sanders we’d read about for years, disdain boiling like broth behind shades too cool for the room. Coach Prime sat down Friday, made a joke about the Honey Buns sitting on the table in front of him — “trying to get my 6-pack” — and then disappeared.

quote:

This was a side of Sanders the Front Range hadn’t seen before. A confident man who suddenly looked and acted and sounded … afraid. Afraid of critics. Afraid of the truth. Afraid of bad news looming like a tsunami at its crest.

Maybe Coach Prime thought Tim McCarver worked for CBS?

He actually was with CBS when Deion dumped the water on him. Another petty move, because McCarver had made some comment on air about Deion that he didn't like.
