Hes the best CB of all time as a cover guy. Not top 10 best player of all time. For me it comes to 3 guys, Lawrence Taylor, Jerry Rice and Jim Brown. Probably room for some DL and OL but that's a hard judge for me. Picking between the 3 above is tough for me

2 pages in, and no mention of Derrick Thomas?

Deion never took over a game, Thomas did many times.

No, but he is credited with starting all the current grabbing and holding that goes on between corners and receivers.

Joe Gibbs developed his one-back offense specifically to have an answer for Lawrence Taylor.

Tells me all I need to know.

Maybe at his position.

In his era, there is a debate. Both Green and Woodson have resumes that are just as impressive. Green was faster and Woodson was much more physcial. I'm biased to Green. But Woodson was a beast and has Sanders beat in total turnovers by almost 40 and double the tackles. Woodson is the prototype NFL CB..

Maybe not the most dynamic (Barry Sanders) or the fastest (O.J.) but he's probably the best running back of all-time.

Plus he did play QB for the Bears in a backup role, Ditka thought so little of his QB backups. Imagine Jerry Rice stepping in for Montana for the 4th quarter.

quote:

Payton led the NFL in rushing in 1977, with 1,852 yards. That included the game against the Minnesota Vikings in which he rushed for 275 yards with a 104-degree temperature, meaning Michael Jordan doesn't even have the best fever game in Chicago sports history.

I should point out that the 1977 season featured a 14-game schedule. Payton averaged 132.3 rushing yards per game and was voted the NFL's Most Valuable Player.

Payton was one of the most durable and reliable running backs in the league over his 13 seasons. He started every game he played in from 1976 through 1987. He consistently notched more than 300 attempts per season.

I mean, dude carried the ball 321 times and finished with 1,715 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns in 1986 when he was 32 years old. I know all of you who play fantasy football would kill for a guy to have this kind of production. And he was a punishing running back who delivered hits and never took the easy way out.

And what you also might not realize, given how players go from franchise to franchise in the modern NFL, is that he did this all for the same miserable team.

He willed them to the playoffs during his MVP season in 1977. But the team finished .500 or worse in seven of his first nine seasons.

This all took place before the NFL adopted its modern free agency system. It wasn't like there was some sort of quick fix or chance to bring in some additional firepower to the Bears offense. He was it. He was the only offensive weapon on that team for years. Defenses schemed and loaded the box against him. They still couldn't stop him.

Just picking random shite to post? It is one of them days I see. Not only is he not the best NFL player ever, he isn’t even the best corner. That title belongs to Mel Blount.

This looks like one of those cancer kid make a wish plays during a spring game. A couple of Cowboys stand there and watch Barry run by. Great run but that is some outrageously poor effort.

I ain't saying Deion is the best player of all time like the OP, but this take is arguably even worse than the OP's take.

Hate the Cowboys but Larry Allen was a bad dude.

Barry Sanders is above Deion on the goat list.
