Deion is/was all about self promotion. Reminds me of Muhamad Ali. They told everyone how great they were so much that people started to believe it and now they are both overrated. Last week's Alabama State coach interview reminded me of Joe Frazier, who didnt appreciate all the trash Ali would talk beforehand and then try to downplay it later. Deion and Ali probably both did it to motivate themselves as much as anything.

Deion is definetley one of the fastest players I've ever seen in person. Saw him with the Falcons play the Saints and he ran a punt back for a TD, nobody was even close to catching him.

Yes. Ask a casual sports fan who is the greatest boxer ever and they will all tell you Ali. He wasnt.

Ask a casual fan who was the greatest DB ever and they will probably say Deion. He wasnt either.

Im not saying they werent great, but not the "greatest" as a lot of people think. Maybe im nitpicking , but that was the point of the thread.

The more I look, the more I lean towards Woodson.

Sanders- 188gp, 512tkls, 1sk, 53int(9td), 13fr(1td)

Woodson- 238gp, 1158tkls, 13.5sk, 71int(12td), 32fr(1td)

Maybe if you factor in being a returner. But Woodson was no slouch at that either. Awards are pretty much even too..

Woodson was easily better than Deion. He just didn't shamelessly self-promote like Prime to get dumbass sportswriters and message board posters to eat it up. (Also applies to the Pilejumper, Ray Lewis)

Rod Woodson could do everything Deion could do except run his mouth.

Rice had Montana and Young.

People forget that '85 Bears were at the end of his career.

For most of his playing days, the Bears were awful. Defenses loaded up just to stop him. He carried that franchise as their only offense.
