One of the Boston OFs is the obvious candidate. I’d love Duran, Abreu may be more realistic

This is the shite I don’t get. I understand why we don’t give Kyle Tucker 240MM but we can’t fricking afford Victor Caratini??!!

Caratini wanted a starting spot

Wasn’t just the money

As frustrating as Diaz can be, Caratini is never gonna out-produce him at the plate

Think also with Yordan and the infield logjam there just weren’t many starts for him at first or DH. That’s assuming healthy, which I know is a fooling thing to assume with the Astros. 7m is a pretty damn good lick for a purely backup catcher.

Jonah Heim is available (hate the player, but switch hitting vet) as well as Reese McGuire (left handed hitting/getting caught jerking off in a parking lot vet.) Wonder if you could get either of those guys for 2-3m

Good thing for Reese is that we’ve got plenty of parking lots down here

Heim would be a great Caratini replacement. I am a little surprised he hasn’t found a home yet despite the recent struggles

Can't argue that.

I still wish he was ours though, compared to what we have now

The Astros released their list of non-roster Spring Training invitees yesterday, and two of the names heading to camp are catcher Carlos Perez and right-hander Amos Willingham, who signed minor league deals with Houston back in November.

What do we think could get it done? Paredes and a sweetener for Duran? Paredes for Abreu straight up?
