If EE is also signed, Reed is definitely gone.

Yeah. I would think he'd be part of a package deal. I wonder if that's the deal here.

I guess that means we are out for Edwin, but maybe not. Either way I'm okay with the Beltran signing. He was great last year, but I see no way he repeats that next year. Still, if he's our full time DH this year, I can see him still having a fairly productive year.

Think we flip Springer + prospects for a pitcher?

Don't underestimate that veteran presence he will bring which we've been lacking

I don't think he repeats his season either, but even if he loses 15 points off his BA, Houston is still getting a .280 hitter and 20+ HR

I posted earlier that Martes, Ted Tucker, Reed and Jabroni has to get you pretty close to one of the top starters in a trade. One would think both Tuckers as Tampa boys would have some appeal for the Rays.

Look for another bat addition, however an arm would be the better move at this point. Watch for a trade soon.

If he can stay healthy and not suffer a serious drop off in production then I really like where the lineup stands for next season. EE would have been nice, but I'm ok with this as a fallback plan.

Now Luhnow needs to adress the SP situation. I've got zero confidence in a resurgence of Keuchel and a McCullars healthy season.

It's hard to see them flip Springer. The kid is part of the core of this team. I'd melt like the CC board.

It's interesting that they are spending this money...

When will Altuve, Springer, and Correa eligible for arbitration or will be FA's? I painfully accept that they won't be able to sign them all, but how long before we worry about those 3?

I'm fapping Beltran bat vs marisnick bat is a huge difference. Also Edwin as nice as he is I don't want for 5 years at this age someone is gonna get pujols'd with that deal,I'd rather shorter term beltran

Honestly, they were a couple wins for a WC spot last year with this rotation. That's with only 4 hitters in the lineup.

Now there's 8......

If they don't get a SP, I don't think it's the end of the world. I don't think it's great, but they're still WS contenders now, IMO

Is springer going back to center now with Beltran in the fold? No way we let that old man patrol center right?
