I’m hoping our young guys take a giant step forward. Urquidy has a World Series win under his belt. Abreu got his feet wet and hopefully takes a big step forward. It’s also time for James to show some damn consistency or he’s trade bait. It would also be nice if the F & F twins Frankie and Framber got their acts together and realized their potential. Then, there’s our unicorn, Forest Whitley. It’s time, big man. We need you.

If Lance and Brad can come back strong this year and we can just get 3 of the guys above to be somewhat consistent contributors We might have enough to make another run.

The offense will carry the team obviously, as long as you have Greinke and Verlander pitching like CY Young contenders the team is fine. Urquidy could post a 4.00-4.25 era and possibly win 14 games as long as he can give some length.
Astros are still a 90 win team and I keep waiting for father time to win the battle vs Verlander and Greinke

Offense will have to carry the team with only two innings eaters. After JV and greinke, there isn’t a starter that can be counted on for 180 innings, much less 200.

Lance probably won’t get 140.

That’s going to be hell on the bullpen.

If Ms Texas goes out with another strained vagina, the offense may sputter just enough to push the team on the wrong side of the wildcard line.

Yankees just won 100+ without an innings eater. I mean I thought the rotation was better last year than people give it credit for and Astros are better at the top but the Astros can do the same. Bullpen last year was just as good as the Yankees last year but losing Harris is a big blow.

Yeah, but my understanding is nothing changes yet. Long story short... if I'm in Louisiana I still can't watch the Astros on MLB.tv this season

Hopefully I'm wrong about that

At least Ludlow will return. Crane better not cave to the media and fire him. Throw them a bone and take hunch

If they could relay the catcher’s signs from the dugout to the batter, Lunhow can relay information to his staff while suspended.

$5 million who cares.

The thing that hurts the most is the loss of first and second round picks for the next two seasons.

Honestly if I'm Crane, I'm firing both of them and it'd have nothing to do with bowing to media pressure. Think about how much of a fricking nightmare Luhnow's front office has been for Crane's billion dollar asset.

Taubman's dumbass rant

The Astros PR response to it

Trashcangate

After all the headaches these guys have caused and with them gone for a year, I'd consider washing my hands of them and being done with this mess. Frankly I think there was more to Reid Ryan's demotion than has been let on and I think Crane has a leadership overhaul in mind.

The penalties seem adequate to me. However, if Cora and Beltran do not receive some kind of reprimand, I'll be a bit disappointed.

Especially Cora. No way in hell he did not participate and do the same thing in 2018 with Boston.

Other than that, the team still wins 88 games this season and wins the Wild Card game.

Depends on when the suspensions start/end. We need to be able to negotiate with Springer before he is a FA. I would rather Luhnow do that.

I'd also rather Luhnow at the helm for negotiating the Correa trade to restock the farm system this July.

He very well may but the second Luhnow is eligible to return he will be hired by the angels rangers or Red Sox and dominate us for the rest of time. And no matter what he does the media will praise him rather than micromanage everything he does. We got shite on for firing some scouts much less the above. They were never gonna let him be

Beltran is getting nothing because he was a player at the time. Cora should be suspended longer than AJ.

Nothin will happen to Beltran because he was a player, now the Red Sox are under investigation and I'm sure we will see Cora suspended as well.
