Let's be clear -- Tucker was gone. Period. Full stop.
He was not going to stay in Houston.
We were looking in the same spot and saw the same thing.
I will go on record as saying that Tucker could win NL MVP this year and the Astros made the right move.
I realize he has put up consistent production and even his outs are full of solid contact, but there is something off with him. He's got a touch of that Mr. LaForce in him.

His body language and attitude can be frustrating but he is a top 10/15 talent in baseball. I wouldn’t want a team full of his personality but you can find lesser veterans who can be the fire and brimstone in a clubhouse. I like the value they got back knowing they were backed into a corner to trade him but I would have much rather signed him long term
If you remember JD Drew I’ve always thought him and Tucker shared a lot of similarities both as players and attitude wise. Kyle hasn’t struggled with injuries nearly as much as JD Drew did to this point

There's no doubt an argument for that, but I'm wholly on the other side of it.
Even if there were no gut feelings involved, I don't have to look any further than Springer, Correa, and I'll even put Bregman pre-emptively in that category.

Damn. If that's the lineup today, what did Altuve do to piss off Espada to have to play with the no-names he'll be in the lineup with tomorrow?

If tweet fails to load, click here. It's a new era of Astros baseball.
Brown was a bit shaky in his first spring inning. Walked two and gave up a ghit but left the bases loaded, no damage.

“Pull side, of course” comment is frickin hilarious
Is this something he ever said about Bregman, who hit one oppo and one to CF the last 4 seasons?
What a fricktard

My Super Spidey senses tell me Whitcomb can be an above average MLB hitter if he can find a position. It could be gas though.

Whitley made it through another inning without succumbing to death. Progress.

I thought he looked good approach wise at the plate last year in the small number of chances he got. I think he is for sure an outfielder but he seems like a good enough athlete to be okay at it. Maybe he can improve enough to handle 2B/3B

It may very well work out not signing new outfielders, as long as the identify the right ones and not spin the merry-go-round all season.

Meanwhile, Jake is off to an ultra promising 0-8 with 5K start to the spring. It's probably just early and doesn't mean anything though.

He's working on his new swing.
