Congrats to the all MLB Astros Altuve, Alvarez, Frambaw and JV.

Also to Tucker and Pressly for making 2nd team.

A's have C's

Murphy has the best value of anything they have left and it's a total rebuild

Brown is going to be what Oakland wants IMO

You might be right, but the deal is a non-starter in that scenario

Would not like that.

Only if they include Tony Kemp.

Can't trade brown. I assume Whitley is available for deals like this. Lee, Whitley and a lower tear guy may get this deal done.

The A's have two catching prospects better than Lee, but Soderstrom is still very raw behind the plate and Susac is still 2-3 years away.

That said, the A's as a whole are at least 2-3 years away so they would probably want a deal like Whitley, Leon, Melton. I would rather go after a FA than deal that much.

Especially when your manager will only play the guy 40% of the time.

In 2023, that's correct. If we get a C I assume it's looking more for 2024-25 range while the window is still wide open.

There's a comical underrating of Murphy in the DAT.

ETA: Including, apparently, one bitter idiot.

It would take that, plus one of Garcia/Urkel and probably another flier

For 3 years of a top-tier MLB catcher? I'd give that up easily. Because it opens the door for 2 things to happen:

- Rodon to Astros.
- Urquidy flipped for a CF who can hit better than his weight and still throw the ball harder than my 53 year old piss stream.

I know the consensus is losing Verlander is no big deal. But it is going to show up when his replacement can only go 5 innings every 5 days. The bullpen pitched the fewest innings of any organization last season. Keeping their innings low was a key ingredient to their dominance in October.

I'm full on the Rodon train.

Rodon would be a huge addition.

I also really like Bassitt, who should be cheaper both in years and annual salary.

I wouldn't hate it. I just really like Rodon's fastball against Henry Aaron Judge. I L-O-V-E watching that guy swing and miss rising fast balls. It just puts me in a good mood.

I can't wait for the Yankees to announce they've signed Judge to a bigger contract than what Turner got from the Phillies.

They aren't signing Rodon.

No, they are not, but someone out there is dying to have buyer’s remorse

That dude should never get any contract that doesn’t allow the team to opt out after one year

Same as DeGrom

Hope he ends up with a contender, so he can ruin their chances

Forrest Whitley is alive (allegedly) and likely to debut next season. Innings filling is not a problem.

I will believe Forrest Whitley will be an Astro if and when I see it and not before. He has found a way to screw it up every time it seemed he was near the bigs.

I do not understand the fascination with Yed playing the field more than necessary. Just sign a fricking outfielder.

Pretty sure Yed wants to play OF. Dusty has said he thinks he's better when he is in the field. I don't think so. But I'm not Dusty.
