Pretty obvious no major moves will be made in FA.

You don't think bringing back an offensively flatlined 40 year old first baseman with the idea of playing him at 2nd and 3rd base is a major move?

Boo has found his JT Realmuto in Christian Walker.

This shite's a lot more fun after winning a World Series. We should do this more often.

World Series polos arrived! I only ordered one, but they sent two, bonus!

For the record, I am against giving JV 3 yrs, 130 Mil. I like our starting staff, even without him. Let's use that money to go get a big bat at 1B.

Astros will pick up the scraps again. And win again.

This is fine. Former Astros never hit against us.

I’d be ok with 2/75 for JV, but I’m sure he won’t take that.

Hey Ryno. Why don’t you tell us all the one about why the plane should be made out of the same material as the little black box?

Women be shoppin’!,

I'd go 3/$100M, but 3/$130M is getting to be a bit ridiculous.

Three years of JV at 40 seems steep. You’re counting on him to age like Nolan Ryan. Not many do.

With the new UCL, his workhorse build, modern training/nutrition, his work ethic and his goal to win 300 games (and probably be the last guy to do it), I'd have no problem gambling on Verlander with a 3-year deal.

As for the amount, it's more than fair to ask for a discount based on no state income tax to help the team with the luxury tax. He should care more about how much money he gets to keep than the contract amount in the headlines.

What about his post season performances?

There's a certain randomness to the short sample sizes of the playoffs, and JV has had his ups and downs like any player. But like Kershaw, he's a Hall of Famer who helps put you in the best position to win titles.

The best way to win a title in modern baseball is to get a first round bye, and double your odds via the random champion generator playoffs. A lot of flukiness can happen in a three game series. Philly would have beaten us in a three game series.

JV helps with that immensely.

ETA: Happy birthday to our resident old fart Owlfan.
