What if we got Nimmo, Uncle Mike, Yuli? Seems doable, and plenty of rest days for the young guys to play.

Nimmo gonna be very expensive

Baws this one you may want to sit down for. Schwab was on one of the local sports stations today with granato and Lance zeirlein and he said sources told him Crane has been talking with AJ Hinch for over a year about coming back to Houston to be the GM. Apparently he was seriously considering it until Det ownership made some big changes bringing in the new GM. Could you imagine?

I would go all in on Nimmo and trade for Ji-Man Choi.
Replace Choi with Christian Walker.

That would have been something. Hunchball and Dusty together lmao

Astros added JP France to the 40 man ahead of the rule V. We're at 36. Corey Julks left unprotected

When I see this name mentioned in here every time I think “I’d bet $1billion Boo made this post”

He'd be an MVP candidate in the Astros' lineup.

HOUSTON -- Astros owner Jim Crane is putting together a preliminary list of candidates to become the club’s next general manager, but he doesn’t expect the position to be filled before the start of the new year.
quote:
Crane said Verlander is seeking a deal similar to Max Scherzer, who signed a three-year, $130 million contract with the Mets a year ago. Crane said he hopes the absence of a state income tax in Texas will give the Astros an edge.
“I know him well, so we’ve been pretty candid,” Crane said. “He’s looking at the comp, which I think there’s only one or two. … J.V.’s probably got a few years left, and he wants to make the most of it. I think he’s going to test the market on that.”
quote:
Beyond that, Crane hinted the club would like to bring back veteran first baseman Yuli Gurriel Yuli’s been great here,” Crane said. “We’ll work on that. We need some coverage.”

Jim Crane tells Tags that Justin Verlander is seeking a Max Scherzer-type deal. Wrote here that, per multiple people familiar with his thinking, Crane has privately questioned that contract and doesn’t seem keen on giving a similar one

That’s an insane contract for someone approaching 40. No thanks

Agreed. Glad to read that Crane is seemingly against it too.

The question then becomes, does anyone give him that? Insane for a pitcher about to be turning 40.
