I hope University of Houston legend Carl Lewis gets a shot at the national anthem.

Holy hell. I still haven't come down from last night. Took me about 2 hours to fall asleep. Working on 4 hours haha.

But at this point, I am walking around the office in DFW with my Astros polo out proud.

Go Stros!

I likely missed this, but was it determined if the Dodgers fan who jumped in the bullpen was on bath salts? Or just stupid?

Yahoo.com story.

Watch the video....the dude very casually hopped over the fence into the Astros bullpen.....and within seconds there were about 15 security folks all over him.

I'm still trying to wake up. I barely slept last night after that roller coaster ride of a game. But to see Puig swing and miss on that 3-2 count to clinch our first ever World Series game win was a beautiful sight to behold.

I am a baseball traditionalist.

However, for years now pitchers have stop practicing hitting. It's basically forbidden nowadays for pitchers to even want to pick up a bat.

I'm finally ready to let go of this baseball tradition.

I feel the same way.

If the pitchers (with a few exceptions) don't give a shite about hitting, why would I want to watch them try to hit? It would be like going to a football game to see offensive linemen trying to kick field goals. It's good for the novelty every now and then like when a position player pitches, but it's not good entertainment overall.

What is the point in pitchers hitting? "It's always been that way in the National League", really needs to be revisited.

As Astros fans, we have the unique perspective of being able to see this from both sides. I was all for it back in the NL days, but now that I've gotten used to the AL...I see why the DH should exist across the board. Here's the thing, I'm sure all of the players in the NL would be totally on board with bringing the DH to their league.

Back in the day, before everybody was throwing 95, perfecting the spin rate on their curveball and using advanced video scouting, it was just batter vs hitter. Lob one to the plate and see what happens.

That's not how it is anymore. Everybody has specialized roles. Pitchers are pitchers. Starters are starters. Pitchers aren't even allowed to put much time or effort into their hitting anymore. It's been allowed to fade into such a non competitive aspect of the game that it's pointless to even let them hit anymore. They're just free outs for a pitcher.

Agree wholeheartedly about the pitcher hitting. I was such a staunch anti-DH 20 years ago. Today though, I am extremely anti-pitcher hitting. It waters down the offense for no reason. Pitcher should never have to hit. It serves no purpose.

Did BMac show up overnight and post for us? Would be curious what he'd have to say amongst friends.
