Probably so. Even if McCullers and McHugh were the third and fourth starters Morton has a lot to offer as a long relief guy. If it were up to me he would be in there for sure

OT but something I found interesting last night. I heard that the Dodgers had a mess than stellar record in their division. I looked at the breakdown and they're 34-33 against teams with a winning record. The Astros are 33-26. Cleveland is 34-22. With all the best team ever talk, you'd have thought thethey were doing more than feasting on shitty teams.

We certainly didn't take care of business against some of the dregs on our schedule in the second half (sweeps by As and White Sox) but that is balanced by a sweep of the mariners and a series win against the angels both in playoff mode gunning for the wildcard and both on the road.
It's been tough to figure out what this team will do in the post season based on the second half. Too many people out and too many people like correa and George who are just starting to come around into form.
Cleveland is pitching out of their minds right now. It can continue but at some point there has to be some regression.

If Correa can't do shite but hit a few singles the Astros have no Chance. He did it to himself.

Yeah I looked at their stats over the last month (couldn't find a place to break it down over the winning streak) and they've only got 3 or 4 guys on the whole team who have an ERA above like 2.52 During that span.
quote:
#Indians Starters During Win Streak:
Record - 18-0
ERA - 1.71
WHIP - 0.93
OPP AVG - .209
SO - 129
BB - 23
Their starting rotation as a whole has posted 9+ K/9. 23 walks in 100+ innings.
As a team they're hitting .309 during the winning streak.
Literally, everything is going right for the Injuns. Baseball is a game of hot streaks and slumps. They've got everybody hot at the same time. Here's hoping the slumps happen sometime around early October. In the words of Astros legend Congbot...."frick em!"

I've written up two 25-man rosters for the postseason.
One with 11 pitchers, one with 12.
None of them have Fiers on them.
Also, LMJ, even with the arm fatigue, is still my #3 guy.
I am worried about LMJ as an Astro long-term, though.
We've seen this too many times from LMJ. He's lights out in the first two or three months of the season, then runs out of gas.
Also, the whole "he's great at MMP, sucks everywhere else" concept is getting old. It's not like MMP is a pitcher's ballpark, and everywhere venue on the road is a hitter's ballpark. For the most part, MMP is a hitter's park. When you get to October and need a guy to pitch in your first road postseason game (which Lance McCuller's Jr will most likely be called upon to do), I need to know this guy, A)is healthy enough to pitch and B)can pitch well on the road.

Am I the only one thinking the Indians are blowing their load right now?
Posted on 9/13/17 at 2:04 pm to Prominentwon
I believe they are as well.

The important thing is that they believe it.
That organization has more skeletons in the closet than even the Astros.

Three center fielders for Fiers tonight.

Will they be positioned in the stands?

They are definitely playing above themselves. But even when they come back to their "normal"... they are a team that played in a World Series game 7 less than a year ago.

While certainly not final, the Indians looking like the favorite to take home field, would you rather play the Red Sox or Yankees as the AL East winner? We wrap up the regular season with 4 games in Boston also.
I think I am rooting for the Red Sox to fall and have the Yankees take the division.

If you're pulling for the Astros to make the WS, that's definitely what you want.

Reading between some lines here

A.J. Hinch said today he still views Brad Peacock as a candidate to continue as a starter down the stretch and into the postseason.

McHugh threw a light bullpen session today. Next week is earliest he'll make next start, could throw an inning out of the 'pen this weekend.

Between McHugh and McCullers I think that the Scots are trying to undermine our championship hopes.
Posted on 9/13/17 at 8:48 pm to High C
You piece it together and hope that it works. Imagine in March if someone said Peacock would start and McHugh would follow him out of the bullpen in the playoffs. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
