I think we are all disappointed. Unless they complete the comeback.

They were going to trade their #2 on top of the division and two games out of first place in the AL? With Gordon, Alexander, and Gusto behind him?

No

They were not

And that's why we're talking about it now. Why I was talking about this EXACT scenario in the off season and throughout the season.

The exact fricked up scenario we tend to attract as diehard fans. It would have taken a man with brass balls to do it after we lucked our way through infinite randomness with that false record.

I am allowed to bitch about the situation because I did waste the time discussing it ad nauseum. But I'm not Nostradamus. It was very predictable.

Do you want a “congrats” and a pat on the back for whatever prediction you think you made?

Glad I jinxed him. But this makes him think he’s a HR hitter and he spends the next 9 ABs popping up balls on the infield.

Put a hypothetical return together then.

Hell, even ONE solid prospect is enough, when your team needs young, controlled talent to contribute because you don't give long term contracts to playoff pieces.

Framber would have gotten more than that.

Now he's torpedoing what little hope you had left. And I didn't honestly see him doing that in the regular season. Just more of a predictable loss early in the playoffs

No

Want my team to compete.

That is all.

This forum allows thinking out loud. Misery loves company. Whatever, take your pick.

Nobody expected them to tank, but they refuse to hand out big money long term contracts (which I agree with) and all of the indicators are that Framber won’t be back. If he could have brought some farm guys that might produce and/or a suitable position player then perhaps you get something for it. Based on how they seem to covet pitching, I didn’t expect for them to do it. But we keep getting more and more turnover on the team due to short term contracts, some of which don’t perform and we eat (Abreu, soon to be walker). It would be interesting to see what the projected wins of this team was based on deeper analytics and how that affected things at the deadline. Eyeball test told you that this team cannot win 11 games in the post season, but not sure what they see

Two things to consider: (1) maybe they had some desire to re-sign him after this year and (2) we had very little pitching depth to start this season. Besides Brown there wasn’t another “proven” starter in the opening rotation. Spaghetti and Blanco had been good in spurts before.

I don’t think they have any desire to re-sign him now.

I forgot it was a getaway day. LMAO Frambitch, the mental midget. Maybe he needs some "mental health" time off like Ted.

It's remarkable how Sanchez looked like a competent enough hitter for years in Miami. Looked solid in his first couple series with us and then absolutely cratered into an 0-28 skid with a million strikeouts.

One more example of a new addition with a history of solid hitting absolutely face planting when added to our lineup. How long is Leadership going to ignore that?

Another one. Astros are going to find it hard to sign free agent pitching. Agents and Wives aren't stupid people, and what goes on in Spring Training or the regular season, the Astros are getting a reputation as arm killers. It's just to much of a coincidence for this to be random happenings.
