Hell of a win right before the break boys. Hope we pick this up right where we started on Thursday.

frick Ausmus. Dude isn't one of us anymore.

Ludlow says Smith will be back first series after the break while Peacock should get one rehab appearance before perhaps starting a week from Monday.
Diaz is on track to return during the next homestand while Correa should be back by the end of it. Rehab games coming for both, of course.
Bringing this back up for discussion.

I guess you mean as far as roster spots go?
Diaz back, White DFA’d
Correa back, Straw sent down
Smith back, Guduan?
Peacock back, Urquidy down

Sneed instead of Guduan (who is already down, thank the Lord) but that seems about right.

That's over 6 weeks for Correa.
Is Ted being at 1B something that will matter for this season?
Posted on 7/7/19 at 8:29 pm to tiggerthetooth
Doubt it. I wouldn't count on much from Correa and Ted is gonna likely be traded

Not sure if theres much to read into it. He wasn't originally in the lineup and came in to play first late in the game up 11-2 or something.

I want a cheap move for cashner before making the real move at the end of the month. IF peacock comes back cashner can fill out the back end till the real move+fill in if needed in the back end. Miley already has surpassed his innings from last year and no guarantee that peacock comes back 100%
I can’t take much more of the revolving door with round rock

Round Rock is out of promising potential answers. Luhnow better be thinking multiple veteran arms in trades.

Damn, lost any respect for this cuck.

The trade deadline is going to be interesting with no waiver deadline for fringe teams to further assess what they want to do. We're 3 weeks out right now and there's a lot of teams that are right on the cusp of a potential playoff spot.
We thought Washington or Cleveland might tear down but they're in the heat of competing. White Sox are staying around .500 and won't sell off much.

AL Standings:
Yankees 6.5 game lead on Tampa
Twins 5.5 game lead on Cleveland
Astros 7.5 game lead on Oakland
Wild Card
Tampa with .5 game lead on Cleveland
Oakland, Boston and Arlington within 3 games of the 2nd wild card spot. LAA and White Sox are hovering near .500 and then you get the drop off of total non contenders behind them. SEA, TOR, KC, DET, BAL
quote:
NL Standings:
Braves 6 game lead on Washington
Dodgers 13.5 game lead on Arizona
And in the tightest divisional race the Cubs have a .5 game lead over Milwaukee with St. Louis 2 behind, Pittsburgh 2.5 behind and last place Cincinnati 4.5 behind.
All of that makes for a really bunched up Wild Card race
Washington with a .5 game lead over Philly
Brewers are .5 game behind Philly and the 6th team down the list is Pittsburgh at 2.5 games behind.

Meh, I disagree with that. He doesnt need to accuse Jake of malicious intent to stick up for them.
Trashing Jake doesnt help the Angels. They got the call they wanted either way.

I don't post much in the DAT, but I watch almost every Stros game, and read most of these threads, and I just wanted to say how unbelievably impressed I am with Alvarez. The kid looks so effortless in his swing, and appears to have his head on straight at the plate, he seems just as happy ripping line drive base hits as he his 400+ foot bombs. I really hope he stays healthy and pans out...

All of you Homers would be singing a different tune if that was Calhoun who plowed over Chirinos. I guarantee it. I don't believe Jake intentionally hurt him but he had a lane outside to get the plate and he didn't attempt to slide. It was the correct call to call him out.
Anytime this happens you are gonna see the runner called out. I don't blame ausmus at all for questioning and protecting his guy. He didn't rant and rave or order a bean ball at someones head.

Obviously if he slides feet first this is a non-issue
But given that he committed to head first, he and Lucroy ended up in a game of chicken with both wanting/needing to keep both sides of the plate as an option.
You can see Marisnick plant his left foot push to the inside at the last minute, slowing his forward progress as best he could. He doesn't explode through the contact.
At that point, it's just laws of physics. I'm more disappointed that Lucroy's plans after the game were affected than I am at Marisnick being ruled out.
As a daily follower of the Astros, you shouldn't be surprised at bad baserunning decisions in ALL forms.
