The Twins are considering Ken Giles.

Tanner Roark.

He's on a 1-year deal. The Reds are garbage. He's been pitching very well as a starter all season.

ETA: Pretty obvious that Jake wasn't trying to truck Lucroy... Lucroy made a slight move to the outside anticipating the throw, Marisnick saw that and tried to go in, then Lucroy went even farther inside and right into Marisnick's path. Nothing Jake could do at that point. He could have stayed outside the whole time and gone even farther out when Lucroy leaned that way, but that's just hindsight and from his angle he probably thought the throw was leading Lucroy toward the 3B dugout.

EATA: frick a Yadier Molina. He's easily my least favorite player now that Chipper frickface Jones is out of the league.

Red are only 4.5 out of first/wild card and have a +27 run differential. They should be better than their record indicates

I thought about him but like tduecen said I don’t see how the Reds can justify selling right now.

I didn't realize they were so close... man the NL Central is pretty crappy this year huh? Still, that's a lot of teams to leapfrog in the standings, so a bad week or two after the ASB and they could very well be in sell mode going into the last week of July.

3 @ COL, 3 @ CHC, 4 vs. STL, 3 @ MIL... we'll see.

Brewers and Pirates have a negative run differential, I think with health (Puig is starting to hit) the Reds can actually challenge for a WC but are a year or two away.

Yeah if I were in their managements shoes I’d just stand pat. At this point if you sell this close you risk losing the fan base forever but there’s too many to jump to buy

They can get by with adding a few smaller pieces, they will not add a major star though. I could see them grabbing a player like Dee Gordon, essentially absorbing salary and hoping a change of scenery helps him

There’s interest “around the block” in Tyler Bauer, one official told Joel Sherman of the New York Post. The Astros “are said to be among the most interested,” Sherman writes. Houston has questions in its rotation now beyond Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole and Wade Miley, and Verlander is the lone member of the trio who’s under contract past this season. Tyler would somewhat help cover for the potential exits of Cole and Miley in 2020.

Some big news! Former Terre Haute South star A.J. Reed just informed Sports 10 that the White Sox aren't sending him to Triple-A. He's going straight to the big's, he'll join Chicago after the Al-Star break for their series in Oakland.

Good for AJ. We tend to shite on the human element of baseball ops and only focus on what it means for our favorite team. But after what surely felt like a devastating bit of news, it turned into a blessing and opportunity for him.
