This is a smarter, more affordable strategy considering their prospect depth and needs on offense. They could use another RHP who can handle high leverage.

Kwan, Urias, and Pena returning (along with Melton being back) are a huge upgrade of what we’ve been subjected to since the Dodgers series.

Only thing that would suck would be not being able to have Paredes and Kwan together THIS year. We need it terribly. I love Kwans skillset.

Cleveland wants to get rid of Kwan we don’t need to go overpay if the price isn’t right move on. No need to give up Melton. It’ll be pissing in the wind if we give up Melton we still have an OF problem.

Honestly, for this season, Trammel in CF platooning with Dubon until you get Jake back, if you have Kwan in left and Cam in right, is just fine. Under the Kwan premise, you are moving Jose back to 2B (yay...).

Rats, sounds like the Cardinals aren’t going to be interested in moving any of their left handed bats.
They don’t have the resources to get a Kwan, I’m refusing to get my hopes up and that’s saying something for me as the eternal optimist.
If the Padres really like Melton I could see that move happening, but unsure how the rest of baseball world views Melton obviously.
Alcantara, it would probably be Melton + pitcher that’s a big leaguer or close. If they throw in Jesus Sanchez think I’d be okay with beefing up the package if somehow Marlins like enough of the Astros guys.
