Yeah, deception at its best.

That's obviously Beltran, Marwin, and Russ Springer

Why is every guy we want with a garbage organization?

I think it’s due to the fact that outside of Baltimore, most of those teams are behind the analytics movement.

Greater gains to be potentially had

The Mancini interest is likely not about Tucker at all. In fact, since he is really a terrible outfielder who is a 1B/DH in reality, Luhnow is likely looking at him because he is considering trading Seth Beer for pitching.

I saw Mancini in RF this wknd

I kinda figured Beer untouchable with our 1B situation after Gurriel.

But as long as Gurriel isn't actually 39, he's looking like he could last through our projected window for WS runs

Gurriel has been raking.

If he can continue that into next season he might make bank in arbitration.

I never said "bad teams", I said "garbage organizations".

There are good organizations selling right now. Were the Astros a bad organization when they were losing 100 games a year? No, the organization was doing good but the big league results were bad.

He doesn't have arbitration.

Weird, I usually look at baseball-reference for that sort of thing and they showed his as arbitration eligible for 2021 and 2022. LINK

So never mind, he's gone after next year most likely.

From 2003-2014, just 20 percent of prospects traded at the deadline (428 prospects) have gone on to play majority of 2 seasons in MLB (or more) and produce 0.1 career WAR.

@martinonyc
Rivals say Stroman trade specificallly made it noticeably more difficult for Arizona to get price it wants for Robbie Ray. Which was obv more than the relative pittance Jays got for stroman

Which is why I'm all about trading certain prospects, I hate the idea of trading Frazier since he has proven he can hit in MLB. I would have no problem trading Florial though.

The #Mets scratched Ervin Santana from his Triple A start today. Syndergaard scheduled to pitch for them in majors tonight. Not known whether two are linked.

Hinch said on SiriusXM that Pressly is expected to be available to pitch today.
