It'd be nice if Gattis could find some level to settle at in between ice cold and red hot. Over the last month, he's hit .187 which is the exact same average he had when he bottomed out in early May. He's spent 2 months as a black hole and carried the team for a month.

No. Need an insurance bat that can DH. Gattis is in one of his extended funks. Can't take a chance of him having another one in October. Need an insurance bat that can play 1B to spell Gattis as the DH
This is where I’m at except I want a bat that can play LF. If Tucker comes along great then DH them or be the 4th outfielder

One encouraging sign (maybe) is that Gattis has been a victim of a super low BAbip lately.
I think we'll likely get decent to good Gattis the rest of the way.

Consider:
Seung-Hwan Oh of the Blue Jays
48 games 47IP 2.68 ERA 37H 5HR 10 walks 55K 1.9 BB/9 10.5 K/9
35 years old, $2.5 million team option that vests automatically with 70 games pitched in 2018.

Cheap contract and buyout, too.
He destroys right-handed hitting but lefties eat him up though.

Martes was shut down with an elbow injury in June. Thought he was supposed to be coming back around now but haven’t heard anything, which probably isn’t a good sign

We aren’t getting anyone. All of our minor leaguers are untouchable!

Would you please tell us how you feel?

I agree IF and I do mean IF Correa doesn't come back or if he isn't the same the rest of the year, which is very very possible, we need to trade for another bat.

Weather is going to be a major issue for tonight's game. NWS already saying flash flood watches for a quarter of the state starting in 40 minutes through the night. Strong thunderstorms and heavy rain coming our way later today. Some big clouds already starting to blow up over the front range now.

I remember seeing Correa clutch toward his hip during an AB several games before being placed on the DL and after he had already missed some games.
He had a deep HR to LF in his first AB after those missed games, so I figured all was well, but the grimace I saw during that AB several games later when he exited never to return had to be oblique or hip strain related.
If he's using the word "sexy" to describe how he's feeling, I really think much of this was precautionary.

Yea I mean one of our supposed best hitters has been out in Correa
I thought he was just getting treatment in Houston?

Our last player to describe himself as sexy was Carlos Gomez....

No way it's precautionary. He injured himself. Are they giving him a lot of time to be sure? Yes. But he had a set back just hitting off a tee. I suspect he will have surgery in the off season if not Before.

Granted he has never played a full season, but I'm not ready to draw any conclusion involving the knife.

He did it to himself. Well little miss Texas might also be somewhat responsible. Just think what this team could be if they listened to the DAT
