For everyone talking about Bregman in the order, I seem to recall Hinch wanting a LH in the 2 hole to keep from batting four RH in a row.

Excuse Ryno. He's a bigger tool/idiot in these threads than he is on the Rant or OT.

Bregman could be valuable as a bat in the middle of the order but he'd also be a bit wasted as a likely high OBP guy if he isn't in the No. 2 spot eventually. Could coincide with the arrival of Gurriel or happen sooner.

Luhnow said Gurriel faces live pitching yesterday in Florida. First guy he faced was Paulino, who could rejoin a team soon.

I was watching that live feed on the Astros fb. His bat speed is fricking impressive. Hit a few that landed by the gas pump

After or during his suspension, he had some arm/shoulder fatigue/soreness, so he's been at the facility rehabbing.

This from an article on July 6th:

quote:

Astros pitching prospect David Paulino is at the team’s spring training facility in Kissimmee, Fla., building arm strength after serving a team-imposed suspension and then resting because of soreness in his pitching arm. After a recent visit to Houston for tests, Paulino was given a clean bill of health. The 22-year-old righthander should rejoin Class AA Corpus Christi in the next couple of weeks.

He would be a prototypical 2 hole, but this is one time where I get Hinch a bit.

Late in a game when you get to the top of the order, teams are usually playing matchups, and any team w a guy that has a dominant split will be licking their chops.

But these 4 guys have the potential to be the most feared top of any lineup by next season, especially at Minute Maid

I wonder how they view him in the FO. Is he a VV injury concern guy or an eventual TOR hopeful?

I don't think he can appear in a sanctioned game until he gets his visa. He can workout at the facility until then.

Well, they'd be the weapon of choice for sure. But I doubt they'd be licking their chops to face that foursome.

I never realized he was a giant. Listed at 6'7", I would hope he was a TOR guy.

K's almost 30% of the batters he's faced in the minor leagues, that's elite level stuff. According to the stats he's never had command issues.
