I’ve been removed from all things baseball since Sunday…..what’d I miss? New memes? Updates on injured guys? New DAT approved trade targets? (Well I guess I should first ask if Click has awoken from his coma yet?)

In his last 50 games, 3 time batting champion who once posted 4 straight 200 hit seasons, Jose Altuve is hitting .251 with 18HR.

The home runs are fun but I miss him being that unrelenting hitter who could put the bat on anything. Altuve the .250 hitter gives me the sads.

He’s also walking a lot more (14% since June 1). 18% K rate, higher than normal obviously but not anything crazy. The average should normalize at some point even if he doesn’t trend back to his old approach. I think he’s actively taking more pitches as part of being put in the lead off spot.

He has noticeably avoided going the other way

There was a Fangraphs article a few weeks back that said he was taking more pitches compared to last year.

When is Bregman coming back? I miss him.

Good luck finding any accurate info on that.

Believe he’s starting a rehab assignment either today or this weekend

James Click on how potential return of Baez, James and Raley impact his strategy for the trade deadline: “We’re really looking forward to having them back, but we’re not gonna rely on that to be the move that we make at the deadline. This roster is demanding our attention.”

Two of those guys are myths at this point. The third guy may be better than his stats suggest but I still don’t trust him.

I just watched the video of this full exchange. The "demanding our attention" statement can be easily taken wrong. He was actually saying that the team has played so well that their play actually demands that the front office to put them over the top to win the WS.

He was pretty clear that he is going to make a move and that he expects it to be a significant *add*, else he won't do it.

So, to me, adding one reliever or a lower-tier starter is not going to make a significant add. It'll just be a change.

In my opinion, big things are coming.

I saw the whole thing, too. It's the second time he's said, in a nice way, we have to upgrade. He's not going to say "our bullpen is a dumpster fire" and throw current players under the bus. But that's certainly implied.

I enjoy how forthright he’s been with the trade talks.

This certainly means we’ll do nothing, I’m sure of it
