@astros

Astros have placed Carlos Correa on the 10-day disabled list with a torn ligament in his left thumb. He is expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks.

I doubt he has any power at all even if he comes back. Strange they aren't doing surgery

8 weeks would put him back in mid September. So as long as its 8 weeks he's absolutely back for the postseason

I had the same injury in high school. You get a cast then do rehab when it comes off

Correa will need surgery to repair torn ligament in his left thumb.

The fulmer/Wilson trade would cost too much. In light of the correa's news, what would a JD Martinez/Wilson trade cost? Need a power bat in the 3/4 hole.

I'm not holding put hope he's ready for first.round of playoffs. Will need quite a bit of time to get timing back once he's even cleared. Terrible and he only has himself to blame.

SOB. At least we have hitting depth. Beltran is going to have to step his arse up going forward. We still should focus on pitching.

Looks like they are sticking with Gonzalez at short for now

Probably don't want to move breg of 3rd so he doesn't get comfortable there and have to re adjust back to 3rd when correa returns

Correa is not on to Cincinnati with this type of behavior

The only problem with coming back in September is that the minor league season will be over with, no where to really get any rehab starts at except for West Palm Beach.

Overall, 6-8 weeks is fine.

For reference, Mike Trout had a similar surgery (or the same) May 31 and returned to the Angels on 7/14. So, right at 6 weeks

ETA: I think the 6-8 weeks includes rehab time, IF it's similar to what Trout is having done.

He gets called up and struggles a bit, his value falls.

I don't think executives at other clubs overreact to small sample sizes like the casual fan does. Fisher's value won't sky rocket because of his two HR earlier this year and it won't plummet if he goes through a minor slump after being called up. Fisher not being called up just shows that we have an already crowded, talented outfield.
