Anything more on Correa?

Same. Lots of reruns on YouTube though.

I assume we'll hear something this afternoon when Hinch meets the media in the dugout.

According to buster olney there is a moderate level of concern with correa's injury through overnight whispers. Whatever that means. I'm guessing anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Olney said if it's going to happen now's the time with a big lead. Interestingly, he suggested moving bregman to short. But hinch has been very reluctant to do that during correa's many "rest days".

Yeah, I watched Correa's postgame locker room talk last night. He is going to miss a decent chunk of time, I'm sure

Now's the time to call up Derek Fisher.

The dude was an absolute beast in his five games played at the Major League level.

He hit 2 HR's in five games and had a great batting average.

Let Marwin play shortstop for Correa and let Fisher have Correa's spot until he's healthy.

You wanna talk about "Earning It?" Derek Fisher has.

And his thumb, it would seem.

Recall though that Bregman performed valiantly at SS when he filled in earlier this year when Correa missed time (maybe 2 weeks in early May?). Also he seems to have gained his footing a little bit at 3B as of late.

Sounds great until you realize we would then have only 4 infielders. Assuming a Correa DL happens they will call up Moran or White.

I'd put Bregs at short and call up Moran

It probably is lining up for Moran to get his shot.

If it's surgery he's done. Won't see him again this season unless we make the WS. Better trade for a big bat.

This. The chopper to short that Marwin had to come in on that allowed the run to score last night convinced me of this. I don't know that Bregs gets him for sure, but Marwin seemed to lay back for an instant, and that gave him no chance.

Marwin @ 1B
Bregs @ SS
Gurriel @ 3B

Honestly, if they don't call up Fisher, it shows me he's being shipped out. Seems like they want to keep his value up , if that's the case. He gets called up and struggles a bit, his value falls.

I would love to see Gurriel at 3B just to see how he can handle it.

He played 21 games at 3B last year. Made just 1 error

Exactly. Give him all the time Correa misses to play 3B. It might just end up our best alignment.

I haven't been following the threads the last few days so I don't know if it's been mentioned but what's the DATs thoughts on a combo Fulmer/Wilson trade? What do you give up?

Oh, with a DFA of Sipp

It was pretty much determined that it would cost too much for the combo. Wilson on his own would be nice, though.

I think a Fulmer/Wilson trade looks something like Tucker & Whitley, with at least 1 (probably 2) of the Martes/Perez/Alvarez tier, and 1 or 2 additional pieces from the Moran/Reed/Davis/etc tier.

Based on age and control, Fulmer is at least as valuable as Sale. Sale cost a top 5, a top 50 and 2 interesting pieces. Astros don't have a top 5 guy, so a top 20, top 40, top 100 plus interesting pieces. And then Wilson is probably a top 100 guy too.

So basically gutting the system. A hard pill to swallow.

We're going to be a much better team when we get our two missing starting pitchers back.
